My first-ever law review article is forthcoming in the BYU Law Review ( @BYULRev )! Will post to SSRN a bit down the line, but the abstract is here and the paper essentially uncovers/ties together a line of Bill of Rights cases in which SCOTUS has applied a nondelegation principle.

@beau_baumann @jadler1969 @IsaiahMcK1787 This is wonderfully relevant to the paper and I’m grateful for the response. Will DM you for lit recs. Still trying to sort through the puzzle of why judges are “better” at interpretation than agencies are. Maybe better argument is that they’re just more properly situated (SOP)?

@jadler1969 @IsaiahMcK1787 @beau_baumann I have a whole section of a forthcoming paper that interrogates the different kinds of agency “expertise” that the Chevron cases acknowledge, and Beau’s question is a fair one—the legal system has long accepted that judges are the most competent at interpreting statutes. But why?

So excited to present my paper—about vagueness and lenity in civil regulatory challenges—and hear the other amazing ideas floating around. What a great idea this was (& yes, stacked lineup; I’m flattered to be mentioned alongside these brilliant scholars).

@NFLDraftBible I've come around on Quentin Johnston, whose gamebreaking ability gives him the clear potential to be a No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL—the sort of player who can take over a game against any corner and change a team's fortunes. He's WR1 for me.

@EricGalko @ESchungo @Pitt_FB @abba1999 @ShrineBowl @PFF_College Another terrific EDGE rusher. This draft is loaded at EDGE. In a lot of other classes, Baldonado might have pushed his way into R2.

I’m particularly grateful to my co-panelists for welcoming such a junior lawyer to join them and for engaging seriously with my arguments. I’m so proud of the Harvard students who organized this terrific event. And I thank @FedSoc for the opportunity.

During my year as EIC, our team placed a premium on scholarship that addressed relevant, timely debates in the law—we published on everything from corpus linguistics and free speech to common good constitutionalism and the nondelegation doctrine.

@AndyGrewal Without question, true. Harvard Law School is head and shoulders above its peers when it comes to the intellectual environment on campus. I cannot overstate how positive my experience was there.

The full panel (including opening remarks) can be found at this link, and it was a rigorous yet civil discussion about constitutional issues of profound importance. I filled in for @jennmascott —a tremendous mentor whose views deeply influenced my remarks.
