Bench press max update!
My goal was to hit 235lbs yesterday. I SHOCKINGLY got all the way up to a 280lbs flat bench!!!
So I naturally added 70lbs to my bench in 8 weeks as a former skinny guy.
All glory to God!
"The bench press is a poor chest exercise"
Is a common Internet belief lately. I hear it constantly.
Is there any evidence at all to support it?
(None that I can think of) 🤔
Update on my road to 315lbs
I’m on week 6 in this powerlifting program by
@JeffNippard
and my bench has increased 20lbs.
I just hit 195lbs for 7 reps.
I’m VERY happy with that.
The 1RM calculator says I should be able to hit 234lbs
Nobody has to care about you or your goals, quite frankly.
This is MY goal, MY dream, but there are so many people who are truly there for me and want to see me succeed.
If you are there for me, I am 100% giving you my all!
Love you guys! ✌️
Leg day was a SUCCESS!
•Box squats
3 X 5 for 315lbs
•Stiff-legged Deadlifts
3 X 10 for 200lbs
•Barbell Hip-thrusts
3 X 15 for 180lbs
•Unilateral laying leg curls
3 X 20 for 25lbs
•Unilateral leg extensions
3 X 20 for 50lbs
I’m going to take a little break from social media.
I don’t know how long it will take, but I do know that it’ll be good for me.
I’ve got a lot coming up these next few months and I know this will be good for me.
Love y’all!
PEACE! ✌️
Chest supported rows ROCK
For 3 major reasons:
1. Solid stretch positions.
2. Limited cheating
3. Allowing more focus on the targeted muscles.
Am I missing anything???
Well… This is awkward.
I recently posted a video claiming to have hit 265lbs for 3. I came back and redid my numbers and I hit 225lbs for 3.
Huge difference. And I truly apologize. I did the numbers wrong or something…
I didn’t mean to lie. And it will never happen again.
We’ve just hit the big 250!!!
Two of my biggest goals for this year are:
1. Hit 500 followers on X
2. Hit a 315lbs bench press
I love y’all!
You’ll NEVER know how much this truly means to me!
Glory to God!
Little update on my
Road to benching 315lbs
I’m going to start making little daily vlogs on YouTube starting next month.
After coming back from pulling my tricep, I just hit 222lbs LET’S GO!!!
#Benchpress
My body’s ability to recover is fairly slow.
Whenever I trained 4+ time a week it would lead to systemic fatigue, decreased strength, increased stress, etc.
Ever since I started taking creatine it has increased noticeably!
I HIGHLY recommend taking Creatine Monohydrate!
Update on hitting 315lbs
I went from a 210lbs to 280lbs in 8 weeks.
I’m taking a break from benching currently. I’m now
focusing on endurance and mobility based training.
Why? Because I’m taking a break to make sure I don’t injure myself when I go for 315lbs.
When I was young, I thought I would remain skinny forever.
I started working my butt off!
•Training 5x per week •sleeping 9 hours every night •eating 2,800 calories a day.
Within 3 years I went from 130lbs to 211lbs 💪
To prove that if I can do it, YOU CAN TOO!
I had an upper body workout planned for today.
But I woke up with a stomach bug and have thrown up a couple times. 🤮
I’m mostly going to be sleeping throughout the day.
I ran 1 mile yesterday
For the first time in months.
And you know what?
It was quite painful.
my lungs burning, my heart beating fast, completely out of breath and worst of all…
KNEE PAIN.
But it was all worth it.
I am better today.
And grateful for the grind.
YO!!! We just hit the big 300!
If you’re new to my content, this is what I’m all about
1. To prove that if I can do it, you can too
2. Support others in there personal journey
3. To document / share my fitness journey
4. To further God’s kingdom
Love y’all
PEACE!
Yesterday was history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a gift.
That’s why they call it the present.
I’ll be using this gift (the present) to lift.
Who’s with me?
First day back!
I lost a total of 9lbs in the past 3.5 days from my stomach bug. 🤮
Just ate 70g’s of protein for breakfast like a champ!
Good to be back! 💪
HOW I KEEP MY STRENGTH CLIMBING EVERY YEAR (AND HOW YOU CAN TOO)📈
Ive been able to do some cool things in powerlifting- totaling over 1800lb squatting over 800lbs, benching 405, deadlifting 700 etc-
But perhaps what I'm becoming most proud of is I’ve been able to stay very
Today has been a GREAT day!
It’s the little things that make my day!
✅ 200g’s of protein
✅ 3k calories
✅ 1 hour reading the Bible
✅ Upper body workout
✅ Quality time with the fam
✅ Gained a couple followers
✅ 4 mile walk
What can I say, God is good!
Love y’all!
My brother Kevin is hitting over 3 plates now! 💪
Go give him a follow!
He’s a great guy!

@bryk_squuaadd
He’s the best in the business!
Leg day!
Took 320 for a slow and steady ride with a pause at the top for 12

Here is my plan to beat anxiety over random things.
1. Find something that makes you anxious
2. Do that thing
3. Keep doing that thing
4. Hit the point where you no longer get anxious over it.
5. Keep doing it, but less often.
6. On to the next thing!
