When a girl - a 15 year old child - is brutally murdered on the street by a boy because she was not interested in romance with him, we have to start talking about violent misogyny as a kind of terror ideology. I don't know her name but my heart aches for her loved ones.

It's pretty simple: if you condemn posters of Doug Beattie with a noose around the neck, you have to condemn effigies of Michelle O'Neill, Naomi Long and Mary Lou McDonald hanged. If you can only find it in yourself to condemn one or two of those things, ask yourself why.

@realstevebennet @RTEUpfront Where does "the left" come into this? And your son could be eligible for an exemption. Not for nothing by my 12 year old is learning how to code. In a Gaelscoil.

Counterpoint: Led By Donkeys aren't far left and what they did was gentle mockery at worst. Meanwhile, Truss and Kwarteng caused people to lose their homes. What they did is unforgivable.

What happened last night was not funny. Far-left activists disrupted the event, which then had to be stopped for security reasons. This is done to intimidate people and suppress free speech. I won't stand for it. Would we see the same reaction if the activists were far-right?

Interesting that the parties that oppose trans rights here and use phrases like "we know what a woman is" (TUV, Aontú) are also rabidly anti-choice, isn't it? The unspoken sentence is "we know what a woman is to us, an incubator with legs".

I just realised I should conclude this thread: myself and one of those colleagues just wrote a submission to the same NI Affairs Committee on Paramilitary Influence in NI. So maybe we'll get to outrage him again.

If I plan a murder with a hitman in my own home you'd ideally want the police to catch me before he commits it. Wouldn't you. 2. The police already investigate things that turn out not to be crimes. It's in the investigating that they figure out whether or not its a crime.

What if, and hear me out here, we prioritised the qualiity of life of the people who actually live in Belfast over the experience of tourists. Like as an experiment.

Also! I have nothing to promote really, but follow @RaiseURVoiceNI and if you have any spare cash consider donating it to @Here_NI , a charity working with LBT women in NI. Their funding runs out in June and they may have to close their doors:
