A legend. Dr. Tirone David - Creator of the David procedure performed in OR’s worldwide. When I started medical school I made a list of doctors across the world I have to meet before I finish all of my training and he is one. What a privilege!

I spent the last 4 days in San Antonio, Texas at #STS2024 as part of the 2024 LTTF scholarship #STSscholars . I got great exposure to the innovative research in cardiothoracic surgery and was able to meet many legends in the specialty for the first time!

Last week I spent 6 days with @boxing_canada in Calgary, working ringside alongside Dr. Bobby. I saw around 120 bouts and got to medically respond to many cases from mild TBI to syncope. I would like to thank boxing Canada for the insane hospitality for the 2nd year in a row!

I’m starting to fall in love with research lab time, genuinely a time I look forward to in my week. I think this was a component of my undergraduate degree that I missed without even knowing it, very mentally therapeutic sometimes to just spend some time under a fume hood.

Tb to an unforgettable experience last March at the Canadian Elite National Championships with Boxing Canada! 🥊🇨🇦 As part of the ringside medical team, the adrenaline rush of being there when it counts was unmatched. Salute to the incredible athletes who left it all in the ring!

Had an unforgettable weekend as a cycling medic at Ironman 70.3 in Muskoka! An insane course with a grueling 2km swim, 90km bike ride, and a 21km run. This was my first mass sporting event, with 1500 incredible athletes from around the world and 2500 enthusiastic spectators! 💪🏽

Had a surreal time at the 2023 Ontario 55+ Summer Games, the province’s largest multi-sport event! With some athletes 80+ years old! I put my event medicine skills to use, covering 4 different sports. Staying active, safely, is increasingly more important as one ages! 💪🏽

@j6lve @DovySimuMMA It’s an orbital blowout fracture, you’re usually advised not to blow your nose after repeated trauma to the eye. The ‘blown out’ air can pool underneath the skin around the eye giving it that swollen look and the inability to see
