Please help
@Anaes_Trainees
and
@RegionalAnaesUK
find out more about inequality in UK training by completing this short survey on protected characteristics and procedural training opportunities amongst UK anaesthetists 👉
We can't tackle what we're not aware of.
This is so important and, until now, understudied - if you haven't already please do fill this in before the deadline this Friday! Do it now before you forget!!
With
@RegionalAnaesUK
we are looking at barriers to procedural training in anaesthesia. Looking at protected characteristics & wider issues that may affect access to procedures. For all Anaesthetists who are not practicing 'autonomously', so please RT.
@beckimarshRA
@GeeMcLachlan
Very interesting and very necessary! Not only would I be interested in examining the anaesthetist cohort in more detail, I wonder about our nursing colleagues in surgery and beyond - has this been studied?
@rosieICM
Because many still don't believe it - it's uncomfortable to acknowledge that a profession of such highly educated and generally decent people has not outgrown its biases?
Would love to see long-term interest in repeatedly assessing the scale of the issue - and rate of change!
Calling EVERYONE in regional anaesthesia!
@beckimarshRA
and I want to know your experiences of working in RA. If you have an interest or career in RA, and have a pulse, please fill in our survey found here:
Please retweet! 🥳
@rosieICM
Very true, see also: literature. Reading fiction was considered "lesser" to non-fiction when it was more popular with women in the late 18/19th century. The whole idea of "chick lit" is dogged by connotations of being silly and poor quality!
