Me, normally: I have a complex list of feelings I have with the country I live in.
Me, after seeing a NASCAR Cup car on the grid at the 24 HR of Le Man: THEM EUROPEANS AINT SEEN ANYTHING THIS SCARY ROLL INTO FRANCE SINCE WE ROLLED TANKS ONTO THE BEACHES OF NORMANDY
A front impact so bad that you take rear suspension damage means that that impact force is traveling through everything between the point of impact to the rear suspension and not being dampened at all. This thing is going to be a human blender.
What would normally be a repairable quarter panel is now a uniside replacement because you can't use mud with a bare metal finish. Body shops are not gonna want to touch these with a ten foot pole
Ok, so this is a 7th Gen Grand Prix body on a 6th gen Mustang chassis with a turbo aluminum 5.3 LS paired to an AR5 from a Colorado/Canyon/Sky/Solstice with the dash out of a 6th gen Camaro. Hot rodding is alive and well, this is sick. Posted on FB by Tyler Pitman
Having driven an S2000 I am now extraordinarily upset that many people consider a Miata as the most direct comparison. This car is within a class of its own, I can't think of any stock car that you could substitute as a "compromise" and get the same experience from.
Imagine seeing someone trying to sell a car at a reasonable price and then QRTing it to your 145k followers to say how much of a bad decision it is when your most insightful car buying advice is "if you can't afford the color of the car you want it's a major compromise"
Not only is this a massive danger for yourself, but anyone who gets into this car or whoever buys it after you. With that metal fatigue they'll have to bury the car because they ain't getting your body out of whatever remains if you get into another collision.
I'll never forget when in like 2017-18ish a local politician to the Nashville area foresaw the growing pains that Nashville would undergo and mentioned a train for public transit and their entire political career just ended because the backlash was so bad.
I just think that a city of 700,000 people deserves a main train station that’s far bigger than this with a lot more frequent and fast rail connections.
@onlyrockythings
I work in collision, this Audi flew off the highway at 120 and rolled about a dozen times, the driver walked away. SUV brain rot is insane, modern sedans are held to such a strict safety standard while body on frame SUVs and trucks have much less strict safety standards to meet.
Earlier this week we bought a manual Honda Element for a Jax's GF and when I jacked it up I FOUND OUT ITS AN AWD ELEMENT!!!! THE DUDE SELLING DIDN'T KNOW IT WAS AWD!!!! THIS IS SUCH A MASSIVE W!!!
Remember to help your local trans and NB community members, Nazis fuck off, Terfs can pound sand, America is stolen land, BLM, support your local ANTIFA, ACAB, dont forget about leftists and queers in the south/rural areas and raise hell n' praise Dale.
Has anyone ever seen a C5 with the same center light setup as the one featured on the box art for the PS2 game Corvette? Was it aftermarket or a prototype factory thing? I've seen a few C5s with the headlight covers this one has on it.
One of the fun things with owning a car that had a short production run from a now dead manufacturer is that when you see irreplaceable glass for sale you buy it and put it in the attic so if it ever gets broken the car doesn't get totalled out.
I was shocked to see a Daewoo in traffic today and
@catinchurch
immediately went "why is the badge a jockstrap" and it's forever changed how I look at the Daewoo badge.
So I did something I never would have ever imagined, I won best of show while competing against some incredible models this weekend. I'm so honored to have received this award
Someone on FB just called this picture "bleak" and I'm about to scream because I can't say I've ever seen a Trailblazer SS, a 4th gen Prelude, and a FUCKIN PONTIAC SOLSTICE COUPE in the same picture before.
Aside from body shops not wanting to touch them when insurance companies can't find partnered shops that will work on them the insurance rates will either be sky high or they won't insure them.
This is the correct take. Modern cheapo touch screens in cars that never had them always look like shit. It's nearly impossible to get a new aftermarket head unit without an ugly ass screen on it. Bluetooth is enough, carplay is horrible, way too much of a distraction.
@quendergeer
Hold on, hold on.......is that a fucking button with a Instagram filtered picture of the vest it's pinned on? The poser levels are absolutely off the chart here.
Saw a *checks notes* Renault Duster yesterday in Denver rush hour traffic yesterday. I'm always surprised by the amount of Latin American market cars that make it this far into the country.
I love going to an official panel on the con schedule that has been approved by the hotel and then having the hotel come shut it down 20 minutes into it because it's a "Party". To rub salt in the wound everyone at the car show had to pay to park. What a joke of an event space.
It's so funny to see what used to be pretty commonly sub 5k enthusiast cars now being listed between 7-10k just sit on marketplace and CL for months at a time. So much for those "supply and demand" weirdos
As I continue my transition I think I've finally found a name that feels right. I'm going to try out Holley for a while and see how it feels, thank you to everyone that has been supportive of me so far through my transition and I can't wait to see what the future hold!
A worrisome problem with the car scene in my opinion is that anything that can't be found within a 5 minute search on Marketplace locally is now "Rare and desirable" which deludes people into thinking milquetoast cars are worth a lot of money.
This dude is the 21st century equivalent of John Henry, an honest to god folk legend in our times. Someone needs to write a folk song about the ATV outlaw.
God this is gonna be a classic example of a car that's a highly sought after item in 15-20 years and everyone will wonder why they didn't sell well since it's a pleasure to drive and then you look at how much it cost and what it was competing against.
The 2024 Acura Integra Type S starts at $50,800. Not outrageous, but it probably prices me out of it. Do you think it's worth the premium over the $43,990 Honda Civic Type R?
I think the Hyundai Elantra N ($32,900) and Toyota GR Corolla ($35,900) might be more in my range.
One of my housemates took a high quality scan of the magazine ad, blew it up to a more displayable size, and then had it printed on a nice paper. Very happy to have it hanging in my bedroom. Brings back memories of hanging dream cars on my wall as a kid.
