No self-respecting baseball man can look at this and not cringe.
Guys, get up and hit some fungos!!
Ya gotta see the ball off the bat.

They probably just got off a full time job. To go get yelled at by parents/coaches who think they know the rules better.
That's why there is a shortage of umpires. Too many people complain they do a bad job but don't want to put on the gear
Advice for all seniors going into your freshman year at your college:
Use this summer to get as strong as you can. You will want to take all summer off. DON'T
lift heavy, eat a lot of clean food, and practice/play this summer.
Don't go into your first fall ball behind
As a Hitting coach at the college level. It isn't old school vs new school Hitting.
It's about doing whatever it takes to elevate your hitters on your team
As a baseball coach you are a lot of things on any given day.
One day a grounds keeper, one day a mentor, a teacher, social media director, recruiter, an inventory manager, an accountant
One thing you CAN'T be is lazy
You have to work hard everyday
Manchester University is celebrating National Athletic Training Month by recognizing our Parkview Sports Medicine athletic trainers: Josh, Lynn, Joe, Lauryn & Colin! We thank them for all the care they provide for our Spartan student-athletes!

Want to be better defensively, get better at playing catch! Defense is all an extension of playing catch.
Here are my 4 catchers getting arms ready a different way then traditional foul line throwing
@CoachTJMcKay
A high school football team I coached with did this all summer. Every team event.
Once official fall practice started the cards went away.
That school has one of the best small school football history in Indiana
Agree or disagree?
The HS freshman starting on varsity hitting .150 belongs on the JV team...allowing him to get destroyed isn't player development, it's stupidity.
Baseball coaches take pride in their field. It’s not an ego thing. It’s a respect for the game thing.
It’s one of baseball’s unique features.

Randy Arozarena launched a bomb in the first inning against the Yankees tonight. Rounding the bases, he stopped at third and did this. Next two plate appearances? He got plunked.
1,000+ logos of the NCAA schools from D-III to FBS all squished into a pic
and i left off 1 random Power 5 school, wonder how long until someone figures out which one
Becoming an official, umpire, or referee is one of the best ways to stay close to sport you love.
I built a ton of relationships doing it. Also learned a lot about the rules that have come in handy during my coaching career

We are lucky to work with some amazing officials, including our women's basketball assignor Bryan Enterline. Here are his words of advice for anyone thinking about getting into officiating.

Using the word "can't".
If you tell a batter they can't strikeout. They will more then likely lead to a strikeout.
Simply because they are trying not to. Rather then just staying in their approach
I read this somewhere and now I see it all the time
Always hear coaches say "slow the game down".
If you can think this freely and are able to do some of the things he does mid play. That's a good sign that game is moving slow for him (that's a good thing)
Perdomo times Kerkering with a leap steal after a slight extension. Kerkering was both predictable & slow to the plate(1.53) on this pitch . Pretty good formula to run.
Nothing is wrong with playing our national past time with passion.
1. You don't know what lead up to this
2. Let people be excited when they do something great
The Hitters Priority Scale in Order:
1. On Base Percentage
2. On Base Plus Slugging
3. Runs Scored/Runs Driven In (Interchangeable)
4. Runs Scored/Runs Driven In
5. Batting Average
AVERAGE TIME OF NINE-INNING GAME BY LEVEL THIS SEASON:
No pitch clock
MLB: 3:04
----------------
Pitch clock
Triple-A: 2:43
Double-A: 2:40
High-A: 2:34
Single-A: 2:36
Hitting is tricky to coach. Some ways work for some hitters and don't work for others.
5 things I think are most important for hitters.
1. A good load/launch position
2. Back hip starts the swing
3. Good Barrel path/control
4. Be on the time with the pitch
5. Plate discipline
Never underestimate the power of doing seemingly mundane things incredibly well over a long haul. Some of the really boring stuff you’ll never see on Instagram can be very impactful if you do it every day - and with attention to detail - for a long time.
Hitters, pay attention to Trout’s tempo & intent.
•Not tryin to hit cage bombs
•Emphasis on body & barrel control
•Hitting the ball square
•Time spent between swings, not rushed
•Calm self talk
•Not cursing self out/bat slamming after mistake
•Practice hitting CB’s
Umpire Jeff Nelson missed a shocking 27 calls today.
In the bottom of the 8th, he rang up
@yunitogurriel
on a pitch 2.63 in. outside, ejected manager Charlie Montoyo, and then rang up the next batter,
@mattchap6
, on a pitch 4.55 in. outside.

Made the change to our early work before practice this week. 1 on 1 with a different catcher everyday to give them exactly what they need to improve on.
Then during practice they get to put into work with the rest of the catchers
The majority of infield drills are done in small groups and or with a partner, but your player’s best gains will be made when you take time to work with them one on one. Coaches, Pursue the Individual! 6TN🌎

Castellanos now is 0-21 with 11 K's.
If his spot comes up late in game in a crucial point do you bring a hitter off the bench?

“Your hammer zone might be a ball..half of Trouts Home Runs are a ball down outside the zone”🔥
Listen to Eugene talk about finding your hammer zone regardless if it’s a ball and putting yourself in the best position to smash it 💪

@CoachKrato
Catcher. They are in best position to read swings, remember what worked last time hitter was up, know the pitcher, and helps pitchers get into whatever rhythm they want
@KLovCatching
@HitTrax
Good reference!
I tell the guys I work with that bottom of the zone is your knee. If you have a knee straight up like this catcher does
I think batting average is down because mindsets about striking out has changed. Strikeouts used to the worst thing ever. Now they are just viewed as an out (same as a weak flyout)
Most players don't go into a 2 strike approach to put ball in play anymore. They keep the 1/2
