Duxbury firefighters made a tremendous stop during the height of the storm at this wind driven 3rd alarm. Firefighters battled strong winds and flooding at this structure on Pine Point Place. Firefighters kept the fire from spreading to other houses in close proximity. #DXFD

We wanted to make sure that everyone sees that the ice is not safe. We just did this test because we got a call from a concerned parent that his child was invited to an ice fishing party tonight. This is not safe. The only safe ice is at the rink. Spread the word!! #DXFD

It’s always great to share good news! It started with a 911 call to @ROCCC911 saying that a heart was available after waiting years on the list. Our DXFD paramedics quickly transported him to a Boston Hospital. Best of all is the news that he is doing well since his transplant.

*DOG RESCUE* Today our firefighters were dispatched for a dog with his paws trapped in a metal grate. DXFD used numerous specialized cutting tools to remove both paws. 14 year old Hunter was very appreciative and was being transported to a local vet as a precaution. #dogrescue

Today DXFD took delivery of almost $300k of air packs for our firefighters. 95% of this was funded through a competitive grant written by Capt Brian Monahan and Siobhan Perenick. Grant writing takes tremendous time and lessens the financial burden on taxpayers for this need!

7:10pm DXFD received numerous 911 calls for this building fire on Gurnet Rd. A second alarm was quickly struck as the fire was spreading to an adjacent exposure. Quick actions of firefighters kept damage to the neighboring structure to a minimum. State fire marshal is on scene.

2:42pm DXFD responded to a multi car crash with one victim trapped at 1520 Tremont St. Two sets of jaws were used and one patient was transported by Medflight to Mass General Hospital. All off duty firefighters were recalled as well as a mutual aid ambulance from Marshfield.

Always on the job! Retired FDNY FF Mike Kennedy jumped into action before DXFD arrived helping out neighbors by cutting trees that fell during the high winds and #weather that came through!!

Last night the shift commander stopped by the Holy Family Church to view the memorial lights dedicated to the Clancy and Ladd families. This display is running every night for the month of March. #dxfd

DXFD had a very busy day yesterday. The day started with a couple brush fires and other emergencies, shift training. Later in the afternoon our engine and ambulance responded to Kingston’s 2nd alarm house fire. #DXFD

DXFD is happy to report that we were awarded a grant for $6,500 that covered 100% of the costs for this industrial gear washer-extractor. This will help reduce firefighters’ exposure to cancer-causing chemicals on the job. #DXFD

DXFD working with @IndusCommRadio to install a FD radio in our high water rescue vehicle. This was acquired as a surplus military truck this month and cost taxpayers nothing. It will be available for the upcoming storm. #DXFD
