Ironic of YC to post a quote of an extremely well known socialist as their members have hounded out those who would be proud to call themselves socialists. Benn stood for a politics that is alien to YC, and antithetical to the aims and belieds of many of their members.

This is the 'independence' advocated by @Melin_Drafod , organisers of 'The Big Independence Summit'. 'Relaxing immigration borders to the maximum extent possible' can only mean open borders and unrestricted immigration. A country with no control of its borders is not independent.

Standing in the crowd, I thought we were past this horrible rhetoric. Wales was not a colony. To claim so is just wrong. No wonder BAME people feel put off and marginalised when you expropriate the language of colonialism for your own ends.
