This behavior and these devices need to be bullied out of existence. We need to go 100x harder than we went on Google Glass. This cannot be normalized.
BREAKING: The writers of Sesame Street have authorized a strike — unanimously.
The 35 writers, unionized with the WGA, could start picketing outside the Sesame workshop offices in NYC as soon as April 24th.
Periodic reminder that in addition to slave patrols, American policing has its roots in union-busting, property protection, and scab defense against striking workers. Cops have been on the wrong side of *every* labor struggle in US history and have no place in organized labor.
I’ve made peace with the fact that my politics may cost me my current adjunct post in higher ed and hinder my career prospects elsewhere. But some things are more important than a career. This is one of them.
I stand with the students. I stand with Gaza. See you all at the Oval.
Riot police at Dartmouth arresting and shoving to the ground a 65-year-old history professor, Annelise Orleans, for apparently yelling at them too sternly. Cool system we’ve got.
You can hear them chanting, “Let them pray,” referring to the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim students in encampment at prayer as arrests began. Solidarity with the students. Shame on
@OhioState
.
Ohio State student protesters are being arrested for “criminal trespassing” on our South Oval, a public outdoor space we use every day for gathering, studying, playing, and relaxing.

In Springfield, Ohio, there has been a massive rise in communicable diseases, rent prices, car insurance rates, and crime. This is what happens when you drop 20,000 people into a small community.
Kamala Harris's immigration policy aims to do this to every town in our country.
Teamsters are calling for a boycott of Molson Coors products, including Miller Lite, Coors Light, Yuengling, Topo Chico hard seltzer, Simply
A strike at their Texas plant is now well into 2nd month. Union says company has offered "raises of just 0.99/hr"
In a brief tiktok video yesterday, NYT columnist Jamelle Bouie summed up the situation pretty well:
“Many students across the country are asking their political leaders, ‘Are Palestinians human?’ And the response really does seem to be, ‘No, and fuck you for asking.’”
This resonated with some folks. Glad we all agree that pre-2010 Class 1 Light Duty trucks were truly automakers’ gifts to the American People and we’ve been robbed of what is rightfully ours ever since.
And to the chuds mad about this post: lol
@theferocity
White liberal: “I stand with POC!”
Working class POC: *destroys sites of abusive policing & expropriates goods from box stores in face of state mandated pandemic austerity*
White liberal: “Not TARGET!!!”
@ettingermentum
lmao at the idea that “Russia,” “China,” and “India” are somehow representative of unitary climate zones…I get what they’re going for but c’mon
@ArmyStrang
“It’s a show about a man, his spaceship, and the weird blue goo he finds—”
*class analysis, imperialist politics, and anti-colonial struggle happening everywhere*
“—and THAT’S IT!”
“I’m one of these believers that this new soft attitude of ‘Oh work from home, flexibility and whatnot’ …going back to work has to happen. If I was still running a company I’d say ‘guess what you’re coming back to work.’ We’ve softened in the pandemic.”
Thinking about how the bosses of Tammany Hall had strikers beaten and thrown in jail during the garment workers Uprising Of The 20,000 in 1909, and fought the ILGWU at every turn…then sold their building to the union in 1943 after their political machine collapsed.

If/when the major metro areas of the Southwest are xeriscaped to work in concert with the indigenous ecology, I think this is a conversation worth having. But the idea that the Lakes should be pumped cross country to water golf courses in Phoenix is laughable.
Former pro brewer here: Miller is correct. Beer was brewed mostly in the home by women until the 14th-15th centuries, when advancements in brewing, storage, and transport tech enabled it to be safely exported, making it a wealth-generating commodity - i.e. “a man’s job.”

Check the handle under the brand name. My boy took like 200k people for a ride before they perma-banned him. He got too powerful.
Kids probably have no idea, it's practically History Book stuff by now, but riot cops thugging out at the first sign of public disorder is basically (at least when it comes to white people) wasn't a thing before 9/11. In my book, I call it the emergence of Bed-Wetter Nation.
The great thing about DSA is that if you show up consistently and decide to give a shit, people put you in charge of things.
The terrible thing about DSA is that if you show up consistently and decide to give a shit, people put you in charge of things.
worth noting that over the last 19 years I’ve owned 3 Rangers, due to moving, family needs, and otherwise: an ‘03 (2005-2011), a ‘10 (2015-2018), and a ‘00 (2021- ).
This is to say I’m not talking out my ass when I claim that there is something special about this class of truck.
@legit_scumbag
Speaking for my wife, but we’d be 100% on board with the caveat that we be buried like this once they’re done with so future archaeologists get a nice treat in a thousand or so years.
I get so tired of people and pundits drawing moral equivalencies between “the two extremes” as an argument for centrism and ceding ground to the Far Right, when this is the list of “extreme” horrors the Left advocates:
The left coalition that won in France wants to implement policies including:
- Raise the minimum wage
- Lower the retirement age to 60
- Build one million affordable homes
- Freeze the price of basic needs like food and energy
- Invest in infrastructure
And more.

“At the bottom of it, everyone in this country knows they’re being mugged.”
Hard to overstate how good the messaging from RMT has been in the face of an overwhelmingly reactionary and hostile media. Militant labor making a comeback on both sides of the pond.
“Well we’ve got public support, despite the best efforts of the media to try and pit railway workers against nurses, teachers against railway workers.”

And for what it’s worth, the ‘03 remains my favorite. Not just because it was my first, but because it got everything right that both the earlier and later editions missed somehow.
