To be honest the reason I don't engage much in Splatoon related debates/controversy is because it feels like our community has a really hard time treating other well-meaning folks with civility sometimes, and it worries me that one day my words will be misinterpreted 1/2
Did you know: you don't need to reply "who?" every time splat safety bans someone you dont know about- it means the system isn't based on clout (yes, this is a good thing 🙃)
We have decided on
- a lifetime ban against Juicy on repeated Code of Conduct violations of Level 3
- an indefinite ban w/ appeal option after 5 years against Yann/Yanpie on repeated CoC violations of Level 2
- a 20-month ban against Slash on CoC violations of Level 3
Removing liberty and choice from victims is absolutely foul and disgusting behavior. If you post vulnerable screens and or act on their behalf with no consent, you have absolutely no place in our community and actively contribute to an unsafe environment.
Honestly just your weekly reminder that it's near impossible for any given TO to have selfish intentions in this community knowing we pretty much all work for free and get disrespected/harassed for doing what the comp scene literally requires to function.
Now that the dust has settled around LTC- time for a brief sign off on this event for me. Gonna maybe be a bit sappy, but I'd appreciate if you read if you have a minute. 🧵?
Before Mickey Mart and Prickly Pear Lemonade played on stage a group of melee players came up to me and asked me what team to root for and what the posters were about. They ended up watching the whole set and leaving with full collections of posters 🥹
There was someone from the smash crowd who just walked to the splatoon area and told me "I don't play Splatoon but this looked way too hype I have to stay here" and bro enjoyed grand finals
People dont need to disclose their disability to strangers on the internet btw- just thought id remind you guys of that before we keep saying ignorant shit 🥰
and I will become subject to harassment. It has happened to me before, and I'm still thankful that post didn't catch on. This community is incredibly rich and diverse, and we have a lot to learn from each other.
No offense but saying "im a woman and i didn't experience sexism so no one else does" doesnt help anyone? Unrelated to the source of this topic today but I'm surprised that this is a take im seeing on the TL today and incredibly counterproductive and kinda sad?
Gonna speak on this because it's something that's happened to me before and it hurts to see this happening amidst all this: do not air out intimate private details of people's lives without consent, even if it's to call out problematic behaviours of someone else
Some thoughts following this weekend, perhaps a short 🧵?
MomoCon definitely has the potential to become the next BIG Splatoon event, and I think it'd be interesting to see the community become more welcome to non-Kalahari LANs in general.
idk I'm not gonna make this a big formal announcement cause I feel like this should be to some degree common sense, but if you're ever worried about your safety at a LAN and you don't trust SSC, you can literally always contact the TOs of that event
btw one day I'm just going to start issuing bans from my events on the grounds of acting like an ass and I don't think any of my peers will disagree : )
Splat safety does not get paid enough to deal with this stuff, thank you to everyone on their team and I just wanna say their processes do often take time in order to make sure that they are performing things fairly and adequately <3
Post genesis appreciation post for my amazing boyfriend
@shy3k
I'm so lucky and glad to be with someone so amazing/ talented and you honestly made my weekend so unlike any other lan ♥️♥️
⚠️⚠️🚨Just a warning/callout for @ magic_octo on twitter. If he dms you asking to hash out the Low Tide City bracket BLOCK HIM INSTANTLY he has a problem and this is the only way to stop him. 🛑✋
Hi with genesis coming up i just wanna remind people that im still partially in surgical recovery and while I love hugs its super important that I dont get tackled or surprised or anything- looking forward to seeing everyone!
Thank you sincerely to
@brushstrokesspl
and
@Magic_Octo
for being my co-head TOs for this one. I think we all agreed at some point the event just couldnt've run the way it did without all of us, and I couldn't ask for a better team.
It's getting real tiring every week seeing the badmouthing and propaganda going out every week from large voices and it's getting unchecked or called out by the people who are in a better position to say something
@DioSpl
I've seen players have their achievements minimized based on things like "she only got that opportunity because the other players think she's attractive", while our community has less of this comparatively, I feel we often pretend like we don't at all.
Sorry my brain isnt all there right now i didnt work this well but you get the point
theres only so much you can bite the hand that feeds before you starve
I am not ashamed at all to say that I had a nose job back in June and I feel much more at peace and confident with the way I appear now and im open to questions
Honestly, before I got into the competitive side of splatoon, I looked on and wanted to be a part of it but never thought I'd completely fit in and ever get to meet so many amazing people. All of it feels so surreal. You guys are so amazing.

I cannot express how grateful I am for allowing me to share my community with your event for the past 3 years. You have been nothing but welcoming and gave us so much room to grow. You have helped keep us safe, and gave us the
Just so we're on the same page TOs (atleast some) have been making their own decisions regarding player bans as they see fit, and just dont see the need to post about it publicly to avoid sensationalizing the issue.
Had an amazing time this weekend, first time TOing and got to see all my friends and A2P killing it in the tournament : )
Thank you for all the support and I hope to make Shine a great event with the new team.
Thank you to the folks over at
@IPLSplatoon
who allowed us to stream our event on your channel, everyone was so on top of things and the platform was ideal.
Thank you to my amazing volunteers who made our lives so much easier. You all were incredibly professional and I am so glad I got to work with you. Our commentary team was absolutely elite this year, thank you for your patience- yall are absolute gods 👌
@superbummerman
is a huge W, bro has carried Splatoon with him to his events and helped us get this opportunity in the first place. I don't think he likes receiving too many compliments so I'll leave it at that though : ))
