pink ball test - 2 innings over in 102 overs: “this pitch is ruining test cricket”
#AUSvSA
- 2 innings over in 108 overs: “interesting the match is moving so quickly”
Fascinating ☺️

Khawaja has spent more time at the crease this year than the entire South African Test team.
South Africa has collectively faced 2744 deliveries in 2023. At lunch, Khawaja has now faced 2769. What a stat.
“Every match in the
#CWC23
has been one-sided.”
“India should never host again”
“The pitches don’t offer competition between bat/ball”
Let’s take a quick look at 2019…
Wonder why the narrative is so different this time?

Agar and Lyon both defended the pitch. Time for the
@ECB_cricket
to look inwards rather than complain over spilled milk. Great interview! Appreciate the content!
@MichaelVaughan
Dude England was 77/2 and India was 99/2. Both teams just collapsed after that. The pitch is not to blame. Lack of focus by both teams is the issue.
@charlie_mac73
@MichaelVaughan
Not as happy as they would be with preparing to play spin in practice and absolutely shitting the bed two straight matches.
@Stevenrowe25
Completely agree. Both are great and create exciting brands of cricket. Just calling out the blatant hypocrisy in terms of global media reaction.
“Babe, I promise. I’m not crazy for waking up 4 AM for 5 straight days. Test cricket is intense and entertaining. Every ball means so much.”
Test cricket:
@MichaelVaughan
But but but little Mikey, that’s only because India keeps on making unfair pitches! It only works for spinners. This is so corrupt. I think they put magnets in the pitch to make the ball move so much..
@PeterDellaPenna
Come on PDD.
Have a little fun.
The guy is a team player through and through. Everyone knows that.
He won us the match 10 overs ago, so he might as well win on his terms at the end.
Plus - it’s good for his confidence which helps the team in the long run.
The
@BCCI
is just going slightly younger with the team but with no real direction or sense.. they just did my guy
#Virat
dirty.. hope this makes him angry and he goes on a revenge tour. Damn, that is cutthroat. Make them regret it.
#TeamIndia
@MichaelVaughan
Pretty sure England was 77/2. I’m pretty sure no active players complained about the pitch. I’m pretty sure you’ve discussed every pitch in the series before admitting the double standard in pitch expectations.And I’m absolutely positive you’ve made a fool of yourself this series
@ajarrodkimber
Get rid of the coin toss and allow all visiting countries to choose between batting and bowling first. Closes the advantage gap of playing in home conditions & saves about 30 minutes in a rain delayed match.

That’s a ridiculous take, yes India does make the most profit but strictly because of population and a monopoly on the coverage. If the wealth isn’t spread out more, then cricket will eventually be an 8 country sport and one that will lose any chance of new fans.
Can’t believe it, but also it makes so much so sense - that I brought people out to the cricket for the first time EVER and a team got all out for 50.
What a freaking joke.
Damn… I love this sport so much.
#MLCricket
It’s crazy how a dry pitch in India got dragged by the media & fans but the Gabba is the exact same but with grass.
The double standard and contradiction is ridiculous.

I can understand why the English are furious too. No scoring above 165 in 3 consecutive innings is enough to get anyone mad. Being 74/2 and all out for 112 would make me so angry. But being upset a decision was made quickly off an obvious replay probably isn’t a reason to be mad
@MontyPanesar
You asked fans of a team what their favorite part of the team was and they said “winning”... that sort like the whole purpose of sports.. Do you want them to say “I love when India loses and learn a lesson during the match”?
@davidwilson1517
@MichaelVaughan
Trust me bubba, we’re well aware about being the best in the world. If only British fans weren’t so desperate to cry, they’d realize they have like 4 kinda decent players and a masterclass with Root.
Warne: “if England can keep the lead around here at 76 runs. They’d be really right in it.
Also Warne: “Oooooooh, 82 run lead?! That’s really quite a lot.”

@theanalyst
@came_peter
But but Simon… it doesn’t favor one team.. india were 2 for 3. And you’ve already mentioned that if it doesn’t favor any side, then the pitch isn’t an issue.
New Zealand is simply the better team. Their pace attacks should be spoken about as one of the greatest. While my heart is broken, I must reiterate this; test cricket is the best cricket. The strategy and foresight required is unlike any sport. It’s just so special.

Main points from my first match of
@MLCricket
:
- the atmosphere is incredible
- the cricket is proper
- the pitch is fantastic
-
@MStoinis
said he’s a big hammer curl guy
-
@Liam628
told me England will win the Ashes 3-2
-
@Heini22
said Bairstow was clearly out

Lol - cricket Australia is in shambles. A member of the staff just assumed their request was accepted? But the message also could’ve never even reached the ground staff? A bigger story should be the rapid decline in the Aussie attitude and tenacity,
This is exciting.
@usacricket
has already proven the point this World Cup. Spread the sport 🏏
The future is exciting here in the States.
& we still have some shock in us 🇺🇸

Yet this presumable woman (apologies if incorrect) is dominating your brain waves so much you felt obligated to reply to her. Maybe it’s because you’re pathetic enough to believe what you wrote, but I think it’s because it’s the only opportunity you have to talk to a female.

India got smashed at Lords in 18 on that bullshit fairway of a pitch. We didn’t blame the pitch, we blamed our inability to not keep up with pace and bounce. Just because England has one good player and no one can play spin means it’s the pitches fault..learn how to adapt
To all
@BCCI
cricket fans - yes the Gabba pitch was an unfair contest between bat and ball - look at the dints in the surface created by it being too green and damp at the start - but it DIDN'T especially favour one side.
#AUSvSA
@ESPNcricinfo
If I remember correctly, Tim Paine couldn’t WAIT to get the Indians to the Gabba. Rub some sandpaper on the wound, and give it a break. You blew the series Paine. Get over it.

India Cricket: We have an abundance of youth and play insane amount of matches.
Also India Cricket: *picks Dhawan and KL for all of them*

There's been a heck of a lot of talk about the pitches in the

Test series.
Aussie spinner Ashton Agar shared his thoughts on them today - also speaking about Axar Patel.

You’re not going to find me defending the BCCI anytime soon.
The ECB have a whole world of issues, but hosting tournaments isn’t one of them.
And the final impressions if 2019 were also bad. Shambles of weather issues (throughout the tourney) but mainly QF and ofc, the finals.
@Paul_NewmanDM
“How dare the South African team decide to go home to their families after a tour away from home & weeks before another away series. Don’t they know we still have 9 more days of mourning left?!”
“I basically tweet for a living, then retweet and quote myself for clickbait but it’s ridiculous how much time people talk about tweets - go touch grass”
5 minutes after I hit publish, I took my daughter out to ride her bike for an hour and moved on with the rest of my day. If there's anything I've reflected on that is ridiculous, it's how much time other people have spent obsessing about a few tweets. Go touch some grass.
@MichaelVaughan
Probably extremely exclusive, simply because no one can stand being your presence for longer than 10 minutes without wanting to play in traffic
I wonder if England fans realize they could’ve avoided a potential rainout if they’d only won their group..
If only every match could be as fair as a throw from the field hitting a bat, running away for a boundary.
Damn, what a shame 🇮🇳🏴
