@JonHaidt Parents with younger children at home during this time know this is true. I observed kids who, before getting a phone, were avid book-readers but after getting them, entirely stopped reading for fun. Now it's all texting, scrolling & watching videos. Abrupt & surprising change.

@eyeslasho Sadly, reducing admission standards to try to benefit BIPOC people will increase racism in practice. Others will now consider race in choosing a doctor, lawyer, etc., to avoid hiring someone who may be underqualified. This harms BIPOC people who could've met the old standards.
