Society says kids have changed. Kids haven’t changed. Adults have changed. We (coaches) need to raise the bar not lower it & not accept less than their best! Years ago, I had a boss who always said “What is tolerated becomes the norm” We shouldn’t tolerate less than their best!

It is with deep sadness that I share the loss of a GREAT friend. Charlie Haydon (Bub) has been on my staff for 21 years but he’s been so much more. He’s the most loyal person I’ve ever known with such a good heart. NO ONE loved HS 🏀 more than him.

In 2005 I coached Kentucky’s Mr. Basketball at a Louisville HS. At the time of the award he had not made his college selection. The runner up for the award had already committed to Kentucky. I do NOT subscribe to the theory that a UK commit always wins the award no matter what 🤷🏻‍♂️

@epps_anthony Unfortunately, it’s a drawback of playing so much AAU. Lose at 2 play again at 4. Lose at 4 play again at 6, Come in 3rd in pool play & then advance to bracket play. It devalues winning! When we were in HS & played pickup if u lost u had to sit long time! Winning was important
