I was glad this story chose me to tell it. Also, I was kinda happy with the plot given that it came to me in parts, much like art imitating life.
Please give it a read and share it if you like it! :) :)
All non-vegetarians should band together and stop renting or selling houses to vegetarians. That's the only way this nonsense will end.
Let them feel what non-vegetarians go through while purchasing or renting out accommodation. 🧵(1/2)
Smriti Singh and Captain Anshuman fell in love in the first year of college. They were in love with each other for eight long years (long distance) before trying the knot. It is triggering that his parents keep empasising on "five months of marriage".
Also, don't even get me started on the hypocrisy of wanting 'veg areas' in India but being comfortable enough to migrate to countries that even cook their French fries in animal fat. Your dietary/religious choices shouldn't make someone else's life harder. (2/2)

Once while travelling to college this man kept doing it more and more. I tried merging into the bus wall at one point. Finally, having had enough found the courage to ask him for some space. I turned to speak to him and he got up and got off. Not all are cowards though.
THR Issue 2: featuring 76 brilliant writers & artists from 20 countries, with writing advice from Ivy Ngeow (author of The American Boyfriend) and interview with Partha Mukherjee (Artist, a.k.a. the Kolkata Coffeeman) is now live!

I'm past annoyed. Enraged is more like it. What pisses me off is that "veg areas" tend to be closest to public transport. It's awfully unfair.
It is not unheard of for DILs to be abused or even killed by in-laws. Let's all collectively donate braincells to the people who think Smriti Singh should live with them.
The sad truth is that for a lot of in-laws their DIL remains a baby incubator, maid & salary bringer.
An incident happened to me in February 2022 that stayed in my head until I wrote this story in October that year
And now almost two years later, here’s my first published short story, Food of the Gods, at

love when journalists don’t understand how to QT a very viral original tweet (

Certain vegetarian communities monopolise entire areas. Areas that are closest to public transport. It's not just a one-house issue. Please educate yourself on this matter. Why should vegetarians get good areas and non-vegetarians whatever remains?

Lapata Ladies is a delicately woven tale of love, humour and things that need to be said. Superb casting, terrific acting, brilliant lines and great direction. The movie ended with applause.
We need more films like this one!
Thanks,
@ThisisLLN
for raving about the film.
My new short story, 'Palat', has been published by Out of Print Magazine!
Give it a read, maybe? Please share if you like it!

Congratulations to all! 🥂 I like how all the writers' names have food-related words in them, i.e ArCHANA, DALal, DINERman, Ghosh(t), RIBbello (creative liberty on some of them). It goes well with the theme APPETITE 🤣🤣
Overhead in the train:
A young man talking to someone on the phone about some interview he gave. His response to the question, "Which person from history would you like to meet?"
was "Adolf Hitler. I would like to know how he influenced so many people."

"I can't wait to meet my baby," I think, looking down at my ever-growing belly. Suddenly, a bloody infant hand tears open my stomach. I guess the baby can't wait to meet me too.

"Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possibly, without claiming it, she stands up for all women." - Maya Angelou
I wish for all women who stand up for themselves in the face of their trauma the hero's welcome they deserve. Brava👏👏👏👏
