Tim is right to rant. We are at saturation point for tech that answers questions nobody asked. Gesture control, voice prompting, touch screens for everything, Lane keep and parking 'assistance'. We just need to be adults and control/engage with our cars better - they're machines.

My recent slating of the new Honda, my dismay of so many bloated piston cars and EVs that aren't packaged well enough comes after years of being eager and excited to see cars evolve. Right now there is a sea of 'meh'. There's 1 in maybe 30 new cars that is genuinely brilliant.

New piston cars banned in UK from 2030. As I said before, the key word here is new. EV charging is improving every quarter, as car ranges improve. Interesting petrol cars will survive for occasional amusement, EVs do bulk of the miles. I'm cool with that.

Bus lanes are for buses. EVs are great for many reasons, but they are still boxes on wheels that can congest cities/towns. EVs shouldn’t go in bus lanes or have green numberplates. Let’s sort easier charger access (on and off-street) first.
