James Cullen & Ellen Morgan took the win in 1991 in the famous Pink Sierra Cosworth. James a Letterkenny man a former COC of the rally. Ellen had a tear in her eye crossing the ramp as she understood the struggles that James had went through to get to this point.
We were saddened to hear of the passing of Austin Frazer. He was instrumental in putting the Donegal Rally on the map as one of the best events in Europe. As COC he set standards that we still aspire to. Then winning alongside Billy Coleman & Bertie Fisher in 1977. RIP Austin.

Delighted to have tracked down the original producer of this old Irish footage, from the 1984 Donegal Rally. He lives in the US now, but is willing for his reports to feature on the YT channel. It's all coming soon, but in meantime, just look at the crowds!

Shawn Rayner came to compete in the historic rally last year, he loved the stages, atmosphere and craic. We’ve been sent these stickers, we hope all the crews competing in the Historic Rally will display them this year as a tribute to these two great rally men. Shawn & Steve RIP
With no rally in 2001 due to foot and mouth and 2002 being cancelled after ss1 due to a very sad accident. It was the Nesbitt/O’Brien partnership who took victory again in 2003 in their Subaru Impreza WRC.
30years ago this year, James Cullen lost approximately 2mins stuck behind a crashed competitor on Friday he fought bravely back all weekend to finish second overall just shy of 2mins behind Works Ford driver Mark Lovell. Could Cullen have won without the issues on Friday.......??
