Well this is it. The last time I'll don the captain's hat for the Paint Crew. Thank you for the memories, the family and the slight hearing damage. Come make Mackey the best venue in college basketball one last time with me

But sure let's send GameDay to the game featuring 2 unranked teams not even top 3 in their own conference
This seriously may go down as one of the most iconic plays in Purdue history. Can't wait to watch this again in 2030 when somebody makes a 2020's highlight reel.
Gee...I wonder what other 6'9", 260+ lb Center with a signature spin move and wicked passing ability there was that Zach might've seen...and practiced against....every day...
I've heard this week that "Zach Edey has never played anyone like DJ Burns," unironically.
Bitch, Burns has never seen anyone close to Edey. Edey has played Wembanyama and played for the Canadian National team. He's seen quite a lot.
- Signs a 2-year deal this morning
- Steps in to an NBA game for the first time since May of last year
- 13 points, 9 assists, 3 rebounds in 31 minutes
Have yourself a day
@Cboogie_3
🚂
I've been so focused on Edey's record watch that I've failed to notice that Braden is just 5 assists away from breaking the Purdue single-season record of 207 set by Bruce Parkinson in '74-'75.
Things I've been thinking about since last night:
-I'm so sad we only got Lance for one year.
-Heide and Colvin just got some amazing experience and are set to make a huge jump as sophomores.
-Painter really might have a 9-10 man rotation to work with at the start of next season.
What Martha did was on my mind alot today and I was honestly extremely moved. So I decided to match that for
@HoosierProject
. This is what this rivalry and the great sport of basketball is all about. I urge all Boilermakers to consider donating in any amount.
On a personal note, I made a donation to the Purdue Alumni Association to go towards the annual Golden Taps ceremony.
Hopefully this serves as an apology along with a better representation of what Indiana fans are truly about.
I don't even know what to say. I've been fighting off tears for what feels like forever. This team did it. Matt Painter did it. Zach Edey did it. We are on to the Final Four.
So who am I seeing in Phoenix?
2,516 points, 1,312 rebounds in his career (1st in school history, top 3 in B1G history, top 75 in NCAA history)
983 points, 474 rebounds this season (top 2 in school history, top 2 in B1G history)
Thank you

. Best to ever do it.
- Edey absolutely dominated Kofi
- Sasha was a walking ball of fire that 2nd half
- and man I'm just so happy for EHJ. What a clutch end of game for him.
B1G WIN
This rivalry is a classic no matter what the sport 🏀🏈
Purdue leads Indiana in head-to-head matchups in both basketball and football 🚂

This team really took on Maryland, MSU, Penn St at home and Michigan and IU on the road and went 4-1. AND erased a 15 point halftime deficit to make it a hell of a game. This squad is elite.
Dalton Knecht in his last 5 games: 21.4 PPG - 5.6 RPG
Zach Edey in his last 5: 27.6 PPG - 12.2 RPG
NPOY race over (as if it was ever really a race). Cry about it, Vols fans.
Color guy during Kansas-Gonzaga claiming he isn't as high on Purdue because he "doesn't know if their guards are good enough".
I'm sorry is Braden not a top 5 PG in the country? Is he not leading the NCAA in assists? (1/3)
Post-game thoughts. Newman needs to be rewarded. He's been the hardest-working player on the court for us the past couple of games and Morton has been such a liability offensively.
That and Loyer needs a confidence kick. I don't know what that looks like though..
I'm in a weird mental spot where I'm not upset with that loss. Seeing how they came out and played that second half showed this team has all the stuff it takes to make a FF run. Plus it makes the IU-Purdue rivalry that much more fun to exchange blows.
Last college basketball game of the season. Last time seeing these seniors who deserve so much in a Purdue uniform. Last game for the greatest to ever wear the old gold and black. One more game to etch their names in history.
So one more time..
TO YOUR CALL ONCE MORE WE RALLY
Colts vs Steelers with massive playoff implications.
Purdue vs Arizona with the
#1
poll spot on the line.
IU vs Kansas in a Blue Blood battle.
All within a 50 mile radius of Monument Circle.
Biggest day of sports in Indiana since???
And without LeBron the Cavs are never NBA Champs, without Brady the Patriots don't get 6 rings, without Jokic the Nuggets are likely a play-in team.
Teams tend to not be as good without their best players. Thank you for your insightful and pointless observation.
It's Edey Decision day. Just a reminder to all of Boiler Nation that no matter the decision, Zach should and I believe will get all of our support, love, and gratitude for what he has given to this school.
The last 2 Purdue losses are to FDU (historic loss in NCAA) and Northwestern as
#1
team
Last 2 Illinois wins are vs FDU (by 33 pts) and Northwestern (by 30
Pts)
Just letting yall know I'm blocking anyone that gives any impression that this is on Paint. Each and every one of you are dumber than a bag of rocks and should find a different fanbase.
Now that I can breathe, I gotta go back to the timeout break with 1:30 left in regulation where they just let Mackey go nuts. That was one of the coolest things I've ever seen in college sports (in my biased opinion)
We hear you, everyone! We are working hard to get more papers printed. For ease of mind, we'll say this: the announcement will be made at 4:30 p.m. Turn on your post notifications so you don't miss it!
Matt Painter tells me that this will be Zach Edey's final season at Purdue and he will not use his COVID year in 2024-25.
Averages 23.7 PPG and 11.8 RPG.
Will be the first player to win National Player of the Year honors in back-to-back seasons since Ralph Sampson.
6 years ago we're watching this game from our couches after our 4th straight season with 3 or fewer wins and 1 or fewer conference wins. Now our name is in the end zone. Brohm has led a phenomenal turnaround despite all the crazy expectations we've set for him.
Had fewer offensive boards, lost the points-in-the-paint battle, shot 7 fewer FTs and yet still won ON THE ROAD
That might be right at the top in terms of impressive wins this season.
It's speculation time. Since the last poll,

both lost to Purdue by 18 and 19 points on a neutral court.
How far do they jump tomorrow?
Maybe I'm reaching for positives after tonight, but our last double digit loss in Ann Arbor happened to be the same season we went to the Elite 8. This team will learn from this and be fine.
Houston has the best metrics
UConn has been most dominant
Purdue has the best resume
And after tomorrow they'll all be 1-seeds in their respective ideal regions.
My goodness I hope we see all 3 of them in Phoenix.
Alright roll-call:
Lorenzo Neal, Markus Bailey, Elijah Sindelar, Rondale Moore
The leaders on both sides of the field, 3 co-captains and one consensus all-American
Play hard for them, boys. Show some fight and Boiler Nation will be behind you no matter the outcome
I'm still just taking it all in:
✅️ First B1G POY since Biggie in '17
✅️ First outright regular season championship since '17
✅️ First B1G Tournament trophy since '09
✅️ First
#1
seed since '96
I just feel the timer being reset on a few more here soon
"Ivey. Can't dribble himself free. He's going to have to take a long one. Ivey. Three. OHHHH. HE'S DONE IT AGAIN."
(Seriously has that sort of feel...although that Cline game is still one of the best shooting displays we've seen)
I wish the best for Scourton. He's going to go somewhere and be great and by all means should get NFL scouts attention.
On the flip side..I'm getting tired of having to learn nearly an entire new roster every season. The NCAA needs to rein in NIL a bit.
I can't wait to watch
@TheFieldOf68
tonight after they picked Marquette to win across the board and insinuated that Edey was going to be gassed playing his 3rd game in as many days (no hate intended, love you guys, just poking fun)
Man between Horvath making history with his 2nd TD in 2 games and Karlaftis creating havoc on the defensive end, this has been a FUN game for Purdue fans
Big Cat...you have a sports talk podcast, work for a sports journalism and sportsbook company, and still think there is such a thing as "Big Ten Refs"....
1. Virginia making the most clutch play ever
2. The play that took Hummel's ACL
3. The play that took Haas' elbow
4. The play that took out both Sindelair and Moore
Braden Smith was asked about his turnover when Purdue was down three points.
Zach Edey took the mic and said every play is big in a game like this and it's on the entire team.
Purdue on a 6-game win streak and just off an emotional OT revenge-win.
Wisconsin coming off a tough road loss and are home underdogs.
Game with massive B1G title implications..yea this one has me nervous.
David Blough statline in his NFL debut:
22/38 for 280 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT (on a desperation 4th down throw at the end of the game)
This was against the 4th best defense in the league BTW
