Here's a closer look at the Pride Night jerseys the Flames will wear for warmups tomorrow! Gorgeous design by local artist Megan Parker.
Rasmus Andersson, Dillon Dube and MacKenzie Weegar all stepped forward saying they wanted to model the uniform.
Caught up with LA Kings forward (and Calgary guy) Jaret Anderson-Dolan after skate this morning. He was raised by his moms, Fran and Nancy, and says he's proud and grateful to see the Flames wearing their first-ever pride jerseys tonight:
When TJ Brodie collapsed during a 2019 practice and was taken to hospital, Monahan ripped off the ice to let Brodie's wife, Amber, know what was going on. She didn't pick up his call, so he got his now-wife to knock on the Brodie's door so she wouldn't find out via social media
Today Saskatchewan’s top two peewee AA teams were supposed to meet in Nipawin for the provincial championship. In a show of sportsmanship and solidarity, the teams have decided to split the title and grieve with their communities at hometown vigils.
Darryl Sutter says the plan is for the whole team to wear the Flames’ first pride jersey for warmups on Tuesday. Sutter has previously said he’d welcome an openly queer player on his team and reiterated that this morning.
Best lineup news for the Flames and practice hasn’t even started yet. It’s team picture day and Chris Snow is at centre ice with the whole CSEC team❄️❄️
As far as I've heard from Sutter, players and Flames staff, everyone will participate in warmups. Here's Andersson and Dube sharing a little bit about what Pride Night means to them:
Welp, that’s a wrap! After eight years in TV, more than half of it with Global News, it’s time for a new challenge. Couldn’t have asked for a better final assignment than the Heritage Classic ❤️
Coming back to Calgary with some hardware in tow! Honoured to become the fourth female recipient of the

Fred Sgambati Media Award. Looking forward to finding new ways to cover university sports while ensuring equitable coverage for female athletes 👊
Full quote:
"I had a great childhood, was loved growing up and have 2 great moms that I'm very proud of. It takes organizations that have a voice and players as well speaking on that and showing it. Not just talking about it but showing it and I think the jerseys is a good step."
Seeing a lot of 'I feel bad for Bedard', which, yes, but how about the woman who was slut shamed, reduced to an online punchline and treated as nothing more than a kill. The 'jokes' framed Perry as if he won some kind of prize. As if the Hawks let it get that far out of hand.
I’m absolutely floored and honoured. I’ll sing it from the mountaintops, CW/USPORTS is the most underrated level of sport in our city. Looking forward to finding new ways to support student-athletes across Canada. New segment,

We are proud to announce Cami Kepke as the recipient of this year's Fred "Gus" Collins award!
The award recognizes a member of the media who works tirelessly covering Canada West and its student-athletes.
Congratulations,

Local artists and the Flames teamed up for some truly stunning and thoughtful designs that made a lot of people feel seen and included by the team they love. It’s a shame we won’t get more of it. Falling tide lowers all ships.

Sometimes it seems impossible to find the right words when everything just feels so unfair. But Tre found them. Best wishes to the Snows and their Flames family.

Don't have the words yet. Becca accomplished more in 18 years than many could in ten lifetimes. Her family welcomed the world through all of this, and at their core, they truly embody the message Becca believed in. Be good, be kind. It was an honour to know you ❤️

Our family lost the tiniest titan out there last week. You could honestly fill a book with the wild stories of Margie Kepke’s life- but I want to share something small here.
Another Calgary sports throwback! This weekend marks 32 years since Petr Nedvěd won the Mac's Tourney, slipped away from his room in the middle of the night, and showed up at a Calgary police station with only $20 and his hockey bag to defect from then-Czechoslovakia.
Things that never fail to bring on a swell of emotion:

-Heart's cover of Stairway to Heaven
-The final scene of What's Love Got to Do With It ('93)

WHL players across Alberta are heading home. After 85 nights living in the rink, you’d think the Red Deer Rebels would be running for the hills, but graduating player Josh Tarzwell says he dragged out his stay as long as he could.
Buckle in. Last week, we mic'd up Chris Sutter to find out what it's like to spend a game with the most popular man in the C of Red.

Can confirm the new provincial restrictions will not impact Calgary Flames attendance. The Saddledome is still cleared for full fan capacity under the provincial exemption plan. The team is considered a business rather than an event and there is a fan vaccination policy in place.
A little spice to add to the Johnny Gaudreau stew today... Dug up his first-ever

Pre-WJC, I poked around at WHL attendance to see if there was a Bedard bump for teams outside of the Lower Mainland facing the Pats. There wasn't much of one. Post-WJC is another story. The Hitmen will open second-level seating for his Feb. 1 visit to Calgary due to high demand👀

Here for a good time- not a long time. It’s my last day with Global Regina! Can’t say enough about how much I’ve loved working here and getting to know Saskatchewan. Thank you for letting me tell your stories, and thank you to my wonderful coworkers for sharing their wisdom 💕
I’m sticking around cowtown and will still grab a mic anytime I get a chance, so feel free to say hi and remember to support local sports! See ya soon ❤️

Big news for Calgary's Dominick Zator! Sources say he's been called up to Team Canada for the CONCACAF Nations League match between 🇨🇦 and 🇺🇸. He's been generating national team buzz for some time now... should be made official later this week.
