I can’t find any pictures of
@runmarycain
and me together, but this is how I will always remember her-constantly being a supportive teammate, while fighting her own battles.
I’ll post something longer later, but I just wanted quickly to say thank you for the huge amount of messages and support from people after today. I’m also very excited and super appreciative of all those that got me here.
You may not get the apology from those you should, but I am sorry as your teammate for what happened. I understand both the arbitrary number goal placed on you and constant push to lose weight. I promise to be part of the culture change you are progressing by sharing your story.
Excited and proud to be an
@HOKAONEONE
athlete! Feels good to have their support and belief in me. Looking forward to representing them for the first time this weekend in Houston and then beyond.
Quick update from today: not injured or anything just felt real crummy from the start and things didn’t improve. Will take some time to rest and reevaluate training then get back and be better!
You deserve an apology for not having a person who was looking out for you in the right ways during your time in Portland at the Oregon Project, and I wish I had been that person.
I knew that our coaching staff was obsessed with your weight loss, emphasizing it as if it were the single thing standing in the way of great performances. I knew because they spoke of it openly among other athletes.
Huge step in the right direction today! Really happy with how I felt out there. Thanks to my friends and family,
@HOKAONEONE
and
@AthleticsCanada
for the continuing support as I comeback from surgery. Always an honour to represent Canada!
The list of people to recognize from today is countless. This was a decade in the making and I want to say THANK YOU and express my gratitude for all the people and process that made this…
Sorry everyone I ended up frozen out there today. Won’t let this fitness go to waste though and I’ll be back out there soon! Congrats to Tristan Woodfine. You the man!
I regret to announce that I’m pulling out of the
@LondonMarathon
due to a nagging injury. I can’t take care of it, and be ready to race at my best. Will be back at it soon.
It’s been a long road to make it back to representing
@TeamCanada
at the Olympics 9 years later. Honoured to be among this fierce marathon team. Thank you
@AthleticsCanada
for the nomination.
@HOKAONEONE
Finished my

term with 3 Canadian records (20k, 30k, and Marathon) and competing in my second Olympic Games. I’m grateful to have ran in their shoes/gear, and it’s been cool to see the company grow. Here’s to a great 2022!
Shocked to wake up to this. I ran into Jon JUST yesterday on my morning run. He was here visiting his brother and we planned to meet up later this week. My prayers and condolences for his family, friends and team.

This picture is pretty indicative of how that race felt! Happy to be selected and super proud to be representing Canada again. An opportunity for some redemption 💪
Taper tantrums in full force right now. Marathon tapering is a whole experience. Never thought I would be so grumpy about feeling so good. Loving finally being in

You ran a brilliant first half! So inspiring. Perfect at gauging your own effort and pace (I hope to learn how to do that). That last 10k just was really unforgiving and frustrating this time, but you still handled it like a champ!

Can’t agree with you enough. Getting the most important aspects of your training in can still add up to a lot of work (or even mileage) by making the quantity a result of your workouts without concerning yourself over a number. I don’t even add up weekly mileage anymore.
@AthleticsCanada
