I’m intested in hearing Richmond Police’s suggestions on better identifying journalists during protests. I was wearing a state-issued press ID badge, a high visibility vest and a verbally identified myself as press before being pepper sprayed and assaulted.
Smith says being a member of the press and an independent reporter are two different things. He says he wants to set up a larger conversation with the media "What is a great way for us to see you are the media?" he is now referencing vests where you can pull down a media sign?

Democrats and Booker supporters shouted over Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron as he gave his gubernatorial stump speech at Fancy Farm, yelling “Say her name” “Breonna Taylor.” Cameron’s investigation into Taylor’s death resulted in no charges for the cops that killed her.
In January, 20K protesters surrounded Virginia’s State Capitol — many armed to the teeth. Law enforcement managed that assembly without tear gas & rubber bullets.
