@CineCaptures Hey! Animator from the game here. :) Just want to let you know that this isn’t raw mocap. This is what the animation looks like after a highly skilled animator has worked on it for hours and hours. Raw mocap would not have even been close to this level of polish and fidelity.

@Erikmitk @booncotter To Ellie he really was “this guy.” He wasn’t kind to her, he came off as an ass who didn’t trust her. So much so that she stole his gay porn from him. 😂 She only knew him for a very minuscule amount of time and in that they were just surviving, not becoming friends.

@TroyBakerVA The revenue from those remastered and re-released titles not only helps support the artists with decent living wages, but also goes toward new projects that players love. If there wasn’t a massive revenue behind it, those major upgrades wouldn’t be happening.

Getting an email from our Project Manager on TLOU2 today with the words, "Hi Team!" just brought back so many good feelings and brightened my day. I miss that family of people so much. If somehow the lord gave me a second chance, I'd do it all over again.

Massive corporations would rather give up the talent, the people on the backs of whom they make their fortunes, and encourage them to go on unemployment than pay them during gaps between projects. When those gaps are too big, they simply let them go.

I’ve watched games be released to sell tens of millions of copies while the artists who made the thing were out looking for work to make ends meet and trying to raise their families on unemployment. That happens all the time in both video games and visual effects for film.

Only once in the past six years have I had two solid years of consistent work in animation. I was starting to chip away at my student debt, starting to actually save and be able to build a life, consider having a home, and then the rug was swept out from under me again.

The thing is, to change the system, you have to play the game. You have to buy into the system in order to change it. You have to put decades of work in to make it to the top, play the part, and by the time you get there (if you do), you probably forgot why you took the trip.

@SmitnerStudio I live off-grid in the Mojave Desert near Joshua Tree and work using Starlink. I did a lot of work on Spider-Man 2 at this desk. Adjustable standing desk, a meditation style office chair so I can sit cross legged, and pictures of Ram Dass as a reminder. 😊

@rabiasquared The first night I slept in the Goss Theater in Watertown, SD. We were performing a show there. I had sleep paralysis for the first time and saw dark figures walking around me while I was unable to move. When awake I heard footsteps, disembodied women’s voices. It was terrifying.

@Corgiboltz There are so many little things like that! I haven’t seen it in the game yet or figured out how to trigger it, but there may be a way to give the baby the hiccups when you’re on the farm. All I know is that one day they just had me animate the baby hiccuping a whole bunch.

@AlysonStoner I’m married, but neither of us felt the need to be. 😅 We didn’t care for the history of the institution itself, so in our wedding we removed pretty much all the typical patriarchal, misogynistic and religious elements of the event and made it a totally free love-based event.
