Sanskrit inscription on a stone slab found in #Berenike , Egypt dated 4th c CE. It contains several lines of poetry dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Signed by a man named Bhanuka. The slab was found in a building believed to have been a Hindu temple.

Trishul &Swastik graffiti from the Hoq caves in Socotara Island, Red Sea, Now in Yemen (1st BCE to 6th CE) The cave has about 216 inscriptions (194 Indian inscriptions) with majority being Hindu names and a few Buddhist plus othrs. Hindu names are linked to Shiva, Vishnu, 1/3….

#Sanskrit manuscripts number more than ~30 mio which is ~100 times those in Greek & Latin combined. This constitute the largest cultural heritage that any civilization has produced prior to the printing press. Why was Sanskrit pushed to the dumbs and made unattractive after 1947?
