Sanskrit inscription on a stone slab found in #Berenike , Egypt dated 4th c CE. It contains several lines of poetry dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Signed by a man named Bhanuka. The slab was found in a building believed to have been a Hindu temple.

Skanda/ Kumara, Surya, etc.. The name of the island is derived from Sanskrit -Sukhdara Dvipa meaning blissful island. The island functioned as an important resting place for the ships at the height of Indo-Roman Trade. The graffiti with majority Hindu names gives a likely 2/3….
