I can't race in the French 24-hour race this weekend because of an
@iRacing
bug that occurs at the bigger tracks + IMSA car list.
The line I depend on to drive safely is stuck to one colour only. It does not happen in Test Drive, only on Official & Hosted sessions of this combo.
It took me about 139 races this year to do it, but I finally managed a win in
#iRacing
! Thanks to everyone who has watched in the past or was present in the moment. I'll never forget this moment! ♥
Going 230+ km/h, my eyes were locked on the green line & the Porsche, thankfully I barely felt
@JimmyBroadbent
's CLR bounce off my Ferrari! All I remember thinking was: "How did someone spin already? We just started!"
Finished P9 overall with more incidents; what a blast though!
Our last proper cuddle. ♥
Lopez was my best friend for nearly 16 years. He loved few others, paid attention to every move I made, demanded endless affection, and comforted me when I was at my lowest.
I'll always love you Lopez (2007-2023), I couldn't have made it without you. ♥
Were I born with these awful eyes at any time in history, I'd have secluded myself from the world entirely. But the tech we already have: audiobooks, colour changers, magnification apps, text-to-speech, speech-to-text, dark mode...it enables me to have a life I love; thanks💛❤️💛
@JimmyBroadbent
Be a good human: Throw all the trash you have at a venue into a bin before leaving. Is the bin full? Then you have to find another one. Can't find another one? Then it's traveling with you till ya do.
What a guy! Thanks to
@steviejb87
for giving me a driving line I can ACTUALLY SEE in Assetto Corsa! It enabled me to do 16 hours of driving this week in the RSS GT1s. Sooooo fun!
Cheers
@summit1g
for playing the clip of my first iRacing win. The only thing I should add is that I'm legally blind. I only have a < 5 degree tunnel to see through, in the centre, so my spatial awareness for racing is its own kind of challenge. ♥
@EmptyBox_007
I've always wanted a racing game Engineer that asks me handling questions after driving laps.
Like: Was the front washing away? Loose at the rear? Bottoming out? What corners are you struggling with? Plus if it could make gear ratios tweaks, and then ask "Was that better/safer?"
My Daytona 24 news: ran over by a GT out of T1 that was many laps down before the end of stint three. The fourth run was relatively clean but scary (both directions) with GTPs!
Having a blast with Sam, shedding a few tears of joy to be driving… no matter where we finish!
Immensely proud to announce that Radio Bacho has OFFICIALLY secured the broadcast rights to SROL F1 1996 using
#Automobilista
starting Wednesday April 29th!
A verbatim snippet of the intense and gripping discussion:
"Hey Oscar, can I broadcast your upcoming 1996 series?"
"Yeah."
That's not so much of a joke,
@GamerMuscleVid
, but an incredibly insipid comparison to make between iRacing fans and somehow... Germans during the Holocaust? Is this your grand plan to gain fame, no matter the cost, to say incredibly stupid things?
WTF:
I didn’t practise with endurance lights, of which we now have (whoops), so I’m using
#000000
for the line and a bright world to compensate! Before I had a uranium green line and a dark environment.
Gotta stay dynamic in these races, like I do in life, when new wrinkles emerge!
A lot of preamble and self-lathering about how great the previous event was before TLDR: New rF2 24-hour event sometime in Q4; new Le Mans/WEC game in 2023; more details after the real event next month.
Fun bit of trivia: The word "esports" appears 36 times on that page.
What next for the 24 Hours of Le Mans Virtual and
@LeMansEsports
?
And how about a new video game based on the world's most famous sportscar race? 🎮

And my sixth & final stint at Daytona 24 is done! The sun was coming up, my horizon looked like a nuke went off, and the three-wide witching hour was about to overwhelm me!
Thanks to
@NateLupson
@amphobius
& Alex for sharing the Ferrari 296 for a truly memorable time together!
My 2021 was all over the place! PNW extreme weather; won 4 iRacing MX-5 races; lost left eye acuity; bought two beautiful guitars; read 45 books (pb!); over 5k Twitch & 1k Twitter follows; made enough to pay taxes for the first time in years!--All thanks to my lovely community!♥
I was watching Twitch iRacing streams tonight; there's lots with <10 watching that are riddled with technical issues. Tell them in a constructive way! Muted mics/game audio, clipping, framerate, and other fixable things need to be addressed. Let's help each other with positivity!
I posted more details here:
So far it's probably a VRAM issue (I turned all my settings down, no luck). I venture to guess they don't test these parameters often because, well, not many people use the driving line past D-Class.
However, I depend on it!
Since screenshots aren’t capturing my hue changes, this is the only way I can see the grass against the tarmac at Summit Point in
@iRacing

You wanna watch a boring F1 parade that Max Verstappen wins every time or do you want to watch the best racing series in the world where drivers risk it all for victory and a mannequin falling off a bridge might f**k up your entire day?
#INDYCAR
I solo’d iRacing’s NEC 6hr, split 4/10, in a Cayman and finished P3! I was all over the place, a tad delirious to be honest from mental and eye fatigue, with 4 solid wall whacks to wake my ass up.
I was 3 x’s away from a drive-through penalty, but I did the best laps of my life!
@iRacing
We got a staff/customer care person to respond in the forum. Unfortunately I don't think it'll get fixed before the race, but it definitely brought more attention to it.
Thanks for all the support! ♥
Was early in the race with the sudden speed out of the chicane, I bargained on three, but had no clue it would go FOUR-wide! I really wanted to be 2nd, and I'm happy everyone survived❤️
No, the Indy 500 should finish under yellow. I'm sorry, we cannot do red flags all day. There is not enough time to restart this race, nor would it be safe enough to send 'em out to race with 1 lap behind the pace car. It should be over: give it to Marcus Ericsson.
A podium in LMGT3 for a 'just for fun' 3-Hour Le Mans race! My G29 brake pedal was dyin', my pace was lackin', but damnit I pushed through to survive!
The BMW wasn't thrilling to drive, except for this totally rad KFC livery, but managing LMH, P2, and P3 traffic was a blast!
3rd place! Preparation, practise, perseverance, and patience -- all were required for my SROL Petit Petit Le Mans!
Thanks again to Bailey, Nate, Coin, plus everyone that took part! Driving the 550 around RAtlanta was grueling AND satisfying with the addition of three classes.
@JimmyBroadbent
My personal assistant/ social media manager is contractually compelled to tell everyone how “excited” I am for this very lucrative event!
I cannot do the final Mushroom Trophy broadcast today (and the rest of the streaming schedule) as I am continuing to recover from surgery. On the latter, I am doing ok, still in a fair amount of pain, and waiting for the days to tick by until I feel better ♥
P11 for my 4.0L V12 333SP! We've done 3x Assetto Corsa Le Mans 2.4 races in as many years now with a mix of cars from around '98-03 -- all are memorable!
Without folks to drive them I wouldn't get to relive the reasons I love sportscar racing in the first place. So ty so much!
Making my way through the entire F1 Archive is even more emotional and meaningful now that Murray Walker has passed away. His undeniable enthusiasm and love for motorsport will be sorely missed, <3
Highlights of my first week driving iRacing. All of it was in the MX-5 at both Limerock and Summit Point. Cheers to everyone in my channel for being so lovely and rooting for me the whole time <3

@iRacing
It isn’t like that for those of us with the accessibility flag enabled—regardless of class and license. We can change the colors to any hex code, the width, and pit in/out lines. It’s a cool feature for folks like me with a disability when it works!
@JimmyBroadbent
The first moment I conversed with Annie I knew we were going to be fast friends, so I am sooo happy for the two of you embarking on yet another journey together! Congratulations ❤️
To the person that yelled "WATCH OUT FOR THAT WALL" from their car whilst I used my white cane on the sidewalk:
1. You're a twat (there was no wall).
2. I hope people are more kind towards your disadvantages--obvious or otherwise--when they're revealed to others.
No cast today, mental health day needed. Twas my second ophthalmologist visit in two weeks, receiving not so uplifting news about a future cataract surgery, though a possible gene therapy opportunity. Worn out from bright lights, dilated eyes, and re-reminders that my eyes suck.
@JimmyBroadbent
I had a great time regardless! I didn’t know which CLR I clipped on L1, so our battle later on felt like old times. Any chance I get to race you is one to cherish from my perspective! 🤍💛❤️🖤
Instead of having to observe long-run performance in FP2, the F1 Sprint Qualifying gave away likely tyre strategy for the race. Now that the grid is in parc fermé, it feels like we've removed unknown qualities to the Sunday event like the amount of stops, compound, and tyre life.
@JimmyBroadbent
It's so heartwarming when I see videos of simracer content titled something like "Can I beat a REAL Pro Racing Driver?!", and it's them going after your lap time(s).
I’ve done half-marathon distances before, but not since 2020 when I lost vision in my left eye! Every mile, to be safe, I have to walk & use my cane at some point which obviously slows me down. But who gives a toss! I’m finding a way, even if it confuses ppl, to achieve my goals.
First stint at Daytona went ok, minimal issues — internally shaky but externally composed.
Second stint I found myself in a tight spot with two GTPs up the inside of the kink and picked up 50s of fixable wheel damage. Apologies accepted and sweet messages received!
Andiamo!
Did
@wtf1official
jump a little early? I see they published and deleted an announcement that George Russell is going to Mercedes. It had this headline, and blurb (in reply) -- cheers to
@feedly
for keeping snippets of old articles.
@JimmyBroadbent
@Twitch
Since they went out of their way to fix an Issue I don't feel needed addressing, I hope they're receptive to actually engaging & aiding people with disabilities on their platform.
Checkout line, person behind shouts "ARE YOU BLIND?"
I half-turn and answer "Are you talking to me?"
"YES! Are you blind?"
"I am, but I don't get that question very often."
"Well I saw the white cane and wondered--"
"That's part of what the cane is for."
"Well you never know..."
Two weekends in a row?! I'll be on again to hang out with Jimmer's community for the Daytona 24hr late-shift! Probably start around 1am GMT / 5pm PST -- but I'll be in chat, like always, to follow along until then!
I took 14,712 steps yesterday, over kerbs, around bricks, past stones, dodging garbage cans, narrowly missing mailboxes (my nemesis), even bicycles on sidewalks (grrr!), all without incident.
Today, 785 steps in, I kick an immovable bed post with my left foot. Fucking goddamnit.
Not that I think I'd get it anytime soon, if at all, but it sure feels nice to tick that one off my goal list. Thanks to everyone for being so amazing <3.
I wrote a list of accessibility changes for
@iRacing
to look at that would improve their system. I enjoy the customizable elements already in place, it's one of the few racing games I can play, so I am hoping to further enhance it with feedback:
Making coffee, organizing my thoughts, eating a banana, then I casually look to my right and see this cutie waiting for me to notice how adorable he is. 💛
Formula One Media heavily sanitizing the Italian crowd noise to filter out the boos seems a little disingenuous don't you think? Not that I encourage jeers, but it's also not documenting reality.
Where is my Italian language option on
#F1TV
@F1
? Surprised
@ScuderiaFerrari
doesn't strongly implore you.
I'll do you one better, just make it Davide Valsecchi, and have his name be in the cog drop-down.
Meet Ben, a super sweet rescue that became a member of the Bacho family this week! He loves to give kisses, snuggles, and has a mischievous side when I’m not looking (oh boy).
I’m going to practise in Test Drive mode just in case.
I understand these kinds of things are difficult to patch without testing; one fix can break something else important. And I’ve given some details in the forum, so if anything it was good to shed light on it for the future!
I can't wait to see how the greedy FIA sanction someone like Hamilton if he states a political position (e.g. Bahrain's lack of human rights) during a GP weekend. It's ridiculous to force drivers to submit their opinion or display for 'approval'.
I’m not an engineer, ACC, as I’m busy enough driving the car. A “SET PSI to Current Track Temp” function in the setup (and pit) menu would be nice. After all, I’d hope someone in my AI GT3 team knows what PSI to pump into my Pirellis.
My brain cannot safely do all of the jobs :(
@steviejb87
ALSO! He DROVE a new line, just for me, to put down a new line graphic on Sebring (cause the original was so bad). Now I know his secrets... and I'm still slower :D.
Two people accidentally stumble into each other, probably frustrated by the emotions of the situation, but after awhile... they see that spark where true love begins.
Basically an iRacing Hallmark movie.
Their boss might elicit anger from Twitter, challenging as that might be on the business side of racing, but fair credit to the Glickenhaus
#708
and
#709
teams, mechanics, and drivers to run this hard after 20 hours at
#LeMans24
.
The testing has paid off so far!
Charles Leclerc unnecessarily pits for fastest lap from a solid P5, has to battle with Alonso to get his spot back, doesn't get fastest lap, receives a penalty for speeding in the pits... drops to P6.
Fuck me that was dumb.
I've never seen an F1 championship end like this, and I'm not sure that's a good thing. So many decisions were left in the hands of the race director & stewards, including the safety car restart, and the amount of cars unlapping themselves.
What does Ermin HamSandwich mean @ 2:37 re: Grid Legends?? -- "One thing they do seem to have nailed for sure though is the western world's seemingly insatiable need for checking diversity equity checklists." Is he poking fun at Grid including diversity??
It's so defeating to be on disability, working as hard as I'm capable with my set of 'hard mode' circumstances, to lose a dollar in benefits for every dollar I earn. How am I supposed to succeed, or at least feel inspired to, if I basically have more money when I do nothing?
With my eye disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa, possible treatments come and go, but I hope this one has promise. If not for me, at least to help stop the progression in younger folks:
I first learned about Sabine Schmitz by finding her incredible VLN onboard videos in the early 2000s. Later on she connected with Top Gear for the famous 'transit van' episode, and I absolutely adored her zesty attitude. What I would've given to have her take me around the Ring.
@autosport
Jim Clark achieved that tally in 72 starts at the wheel of wingless deathtraps. Lauda adapted through rapid transformations in aerodynamics and power delivery over a long-standing career.
Max's era is marked by longer seasons (more opportunities) and fairly reliable machines.
P10 for me in our WSC league race: Round 2 at Silverstone! These two Ferraris stayed in the same shot for a lot of the race, adding a touch of beauty and a dash of noise to the server! Picture courtesy of

After growing a full mustache and beard for two years, it’s taken a few days to adjust to NOT having elements of it. But… I think I feel like me again.
My Federal SNAP benefit during COVID-19 was at $248 a month. That expires March 1st and returns to about $195. I barely meet nutritional minimums by spending $350-400 due to current inflation.
If government can't keep people from going hungry or living homeless, what good is it?
Good luck to those taking part in iRacing’s IMSA series at Nurburgring Combined this week! I feel confident doing runs, … solo… lol.
I dunno why I skipped ViR last season for fear of massive incidents, yet this is strangely exciting to me.
Anyone dreading it?
There'll be another Radio Bacho session for
@JimmyBroadbent
& DHR throughout the European night for the
#iRacing
Nürburgring 24 event!
I'll be on full-time around midnight(ish) to talk to chat and have a fun chill time as always!
@MBrundleF1
I enjoyed 10, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1 pts from your day — Mark Webber scoring in a Minardi was something to shout about.
That period was marked by poor reliability which rewarded luck and boldness.
Today we mostly give points to four teams… kinda hard to get excited for the remainders.
I thought the IGTC 2018 Suzuka 10 Hour International broadcast was the most cringe thing I’d seen in Motorsport. The 2023 Red Bull F1 launch takes the cake!
Dear Ferrari, I can't see great, right, but like... I am pretty sure even I can tell Carlos when two cars are approaching like that. I'd park my eyes on the relative timing, track map, and rear view cam. These Q penalties are silly. I work cheap. Willing to learn (more) Italian.
I'm helping to announce donations for the next 23 hours on
