The complexity of the Commissioner’s role is indescribable & tough beyond belief. Critics hover, overlooking the positive. Can’t imagine how Cress feels tonight. We are all people behind the uniform. Thanks Cress for your service, stoicism & your support to policing.
Last Saturday, with an officer from
@metpoliceuk
we remembered

by laying 2 roses given to us by

Four years ago, eight people were killed, many more injured and the lives of countless others changed forever during the terror attack at London Bridge.
Today, we remember all of those affected by that terrible night.
Had a fantastic first day today in Birmingham. Travelled on the 0730 train speaking to crew. Enjoyed meeting many of
@BTP
officers PCSOs and Police Staff. They were all enormously proud of what they do and I am really looking forward to working with everyone. 😊
Many of you will know that as part of the celebration of 100years of

The whole

team can hold their heads up high. I'm disgusted players have been subjected to racism. It has no place in our society in person or online. We all have a responsibility to call it out. If you witness racism, report it to the police and help us drive it out.
Today I joined other force leaders to remember the 52 people who died and hundreds more who were injured in the terrible terror attacks in London 16 years ago today.
We will remember them and the heroes who showed such bravery while responding to the emergency that awful day.
Outside the Abbey, the Chief Constable wanted a word - and a selfie!
Inside, incredibly, I had the honour of being seated between a former private secretary to The King & Queen and the oldest living holder of the Victoria Cross, Keith Payne VC, 89.
At the end of a busy week it was nice to meet ‘Frank’ our general purpose police

National Police Memorial Day tomorrow and I will be joining many colleagues across the country standing outside at 20:00hrs and shining a torch/phone torch to support the police and remember those colleagues who lost their lives in the line of duty.
These officers were working with me at the weekend. All

Today we have successfully overturned the decision of an independent misconduct panel who let an officer keep his job after being found guilty of gross misconduct.

Attending Salisbury yesterday I was so impressed with the joint working of all agencies. Humbling to see the commitment of all present dealing with such a complex incident. My thoughts were with those involved in the incident.

Popped into Gloucester Station today after hearing about one of my officers being assaulted in the course of helping train staff remove abusive passengers.
This kind of behaviour is unacceptable.
Great to meet the team though, and hear about all the good work they’re doing 👍
Thrilled to give a warm welcome to

Karen brings a wealth of experience and knowledge. Really looking forward to working with her.
Today I walked past the Yvonne Fletcher memorial which was on my beat as a probationer at

of colleagues who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

I took some time out today to reflect on the achievement of Sislin Fay Allen who joined the

The Lord Chief Justice has amended Criminal Practice Direction to allow officers to carry

Today I attended the launch of the

Decided to pop into Northwick Park on way back from
@BTPMersey

What a day to be out on patrol at King’s Cross 🌞🥵
Good to meet local officers, the multi-agency team focussed on homelessness, as well as chaplains and trainers.
Also met

it’s a shame you have a downer on

I was disappointed with your views which don’t reflect the team in any way. Can I suggest we pick you up and you meet them and see their incredible work.
It was a tremendous honour for me to attend the UK Police Memorial Dedication Ceremony at

I was moved by the presence of those who truly understand

My condolences also remain with the family and friends of the dear colleagues our Force sadly lost over the past 12 months.

Great day yesterday meeting officers and staff in

probationers.
Despite the cold good to just get out and about today
@BTPStratford
@BTPPaddington

Thanks to

It was great to meet the officers, along with the information management team and neighbourhood policing team, and hear about the fantastic work they're doing.
Lovely to drop by Bristol and Reading on the journey too.
