Presented 2+ years of work on an all-in-one REDCap R package, RosyREDCap. I use it to Import, Clean, Transform, Analyze, and Share data pipelines for several clinical and research projects. Stay tuned for future releases!

Doctor here. They do not treat COVID-19. They were studied. If we recommend them for treatment you would make up a conspiracy that they didn’t work and they were harmful. It’s the same pattern with you. Please get expert advisors if you continue to serve our government
Your medical notes should be readable. If a new 3rd year medical student can’t understand your note then it’s probably over abbreviated. We can’t collaborate if we are all speaking different languages.
I am hosting five one-hour sessions on September 6,11,12,19, and 20, all 6PM to 7PM to teach data analysis and structure using R and REDCap from the resident perspective. Message me for the RSVP link!

Sorry that happened. Unprofessional. I would say my name is worth learning because we are colleagues. I can text you a phonetic version of my name so you can reference it. Good luck!
@LolOverruled
As a doctor I’m also conflicted. He genuinely does good but I don’t agree with people having to have their experience accessing basic medical care monetized for views. We need universal access to healthcare like most other industrialized countries.
@jbullockruns
Yikes at the amount of people defending a system with very little flexibility. If you value your employees you make reasonable case by case accommodations. You should be defending your colleagues…

Maybe you’ll have 2 people at your rally then. Florida needs better leadership. We have crises in healthcare and rising costs of living and you’d rather fight culture wars. Embarrassing
I had an amazing 2 week rotation seeing a variety of patients with rare sarcomas, which

He does this for popularity. The science and evidence in the realm of public health is on the side of vaccines. The decision to get one is up to the patient. A doctor having people sign a pledge to got get vaccinated for preventable disease is shameful

I would tell them as soon as possible (like halfway through the rotation) and say you that’s an area you want them to focus on for the second half. Mid-rotation feedback gives them a chance to redeem themselves.

I hated step one and got a below average score. I made time for other medical interests and still matched where I wanted. I know how you feel. STEP 1 brought out so much anxiety in me. I believe in you! The vast majority of people pass their first time
I am happy to share how it works with anyone who uses REDCap and is familiar with R. This essentially creates a live pipeline of REDCap data to be used for data analysis, plots, statistics, etc. It can also be used to make local web apps (on your PC) using your live REDCap data.
I'm the only one using it but the
#Rpackage
#rosyredcap
is now v2.0.0!
remotes::install_github("brandonerose/rosyredcap")
name + API token + link + file directory = all possible metadata and data from your REDCap project organized in R and as Excel files
Medical researchers, beware! 🚨 Relying on Microsoft Excel for your research leads to one-off projects where lifecycle of the data is untracable. Excel is for storing and viewing data, not data input merging, transformation, biostats, or publication-quality figures...

I hear you. I’m conflicted. Pros of easing masks are less medical waste. We should conserve PPE and use it when it’s appropriate. People who are immunocompromised or who have symptoms of any URI/cough should wear a mask. People should be up to date on vaccines and boosters.
@jbcarmody
When I see a sky high CASPer score on my admissions committee I’m usually skeptical. Can a multiple choice test measure these things accurately? Anything standardized can be games. This is why we have interviews I thought 🤷♂️
Had my first wards as a senior resident today while cross covering. I was 1) an hour early to review the patients 2) caught things I would have missed as an intern 3) kept my team calm and focused 4) saw all of the patients 5) gave a coherent sign out 6) left on time…. Wow 🤩

It’s depressing having 350k in debt, more than 50% of my income going to rent, and not being to afford property. I have 2 professional degrees and financial shackles around me for most of my adult life. And I don’t even have kids yet. My generation has been sold down the river.
@ZahraMarkatia
@VPrasadMDMPH
They are just afraid of industries buying and grooming doctors. I think it’s a legitimate theoretical concern. But interestingly how is it different than having the military pay for your med school? Or taking a hefty scholarship from a pharmaceutical company?
Reflecting on my intern year. I’m not where I want to be yet. There is so much I want to improve. I want to be more consistent, learn more medicine, be a better communicator, and improve my time management. I’m happy I’m at a program that values my growth and not just my labor 🙌
In medicine how did we get to the point where we have to give an inferior treatment because someone at an insurance company or in an administration position said so? We must continue to fight back. If it was your family member being treated, how would you feel about this system?
Far too many sarcoma patients are not receiving NGS.
@SylvesterCancer
we have an entire sarcoma group that only sees sarcoma patients and runs trials. If you ever come across a sarcoma patient make sure they 1) have seen a sarcoma specialist and 2) have had their tumor sequenced!
I forgot my pen in a patient’s room and when I went back to get it the patient and the nurse were talking about how nice I have been the last few days. It’s the little things like offering to lower the blinds and stopping by on your way home. Made my day!
@Dr_Oubre
Had this happen to me on prerounds one of my first rotations. My patient who came from step down was in respiratory distress using accessory muscles but still able to hold a conversation. The patient ended up being intubated and I was really happy I called the rapid.
How do we deal with the amount of misinformation about COVID and the vaccine? It’s frustrating as someone who spent the entire adult life working towards a career in medicine just to meet patients who made up their mind before I open my mouth. I’ll keep trying to build trust! 🤷♂️
