🤔 BIG QUESTION: Would you like us to cover
@frentzen_hh
's 1999 season IN FULL?
We dabbled with his late-99 back in season one, but there was so much more to his year than that...
What was going on in F1 the day Ferrari debutant Ollie Bearman was born?

Poor kid (probably) never got to see a V10 F1 race live ☹️
The lesser-seen external camera shot of THAT OVERTAKE from Portugal ‘96! 🇵🇹
The move and the post race fallout from it are discussed in plenty of detail in our new episode which is OUT NOW ▶️

If you’re watching this without the sound on 🔇 you’re not doing it properly.
So try again, and this time TURN IT UP 🔊🎚️
Also those Renaults were outrageous off the line in this era 🚀

Thanks for all the great responses to the

We couldn't move on without sharing this piece of gold from

in the BBV10s Community! ⬇️
Michael Schumacher, presumably with an illegally-worn down plank by this stage, tackles the unloved Eau Rouge chicane at the 1994 Belgian GP - subject of this week’s episode of
#BringBackV10s
!
Senna: “He braked earlier than normal. I tried to stop but locked up the rear and slid into him. It’s a shame” 🤷🏻♂️
Mansell: “He has a screw loose in his head. The stewards are totally gutless. Certain people in F1 can get away with anything they want” 😡
DID YOU KNOW: In 1992 Alain Prost was offered an Indycar drive by Newman/Haas, to fill in for the injured Mario Andretti at Detroit and Portland after that year's Indy 500! 😮💨
🎨 DID YOU KNOW: There's a 1997 Lola F1 car out in the wild, but it's been repainted into plain Lola colours!
It's part of the incredible car collection assembled by former Lola owner Martin Birrane (who died in 2018) which is kept at Mondello Park.

Who remembers
#BringBackV10s
episode 1?
At the 1991 French GP ⬇️ Alain Prost led a total of 44 laps, and Ferrari looked back on course with its new 643 after a shaky start to the year.
You could never have guessed then that he'd be fired before the end of 1991!
Fair to say the crew behind the Andrea Moda documentary went all out with the display they set up at a recent special screening in Italy 🤯👏
Yes - those are REAL parts that have been kept from the early 90s!
(If you've not seen it yet, what are you playing at?!)
Yeah that's how we look at it. The name is just a name, and the podcast is just a fun way to look back at F1's past, regardless of the number of cylinders 🫶
Don't worry though. The V10 era will always be our true love ❤️
@glennfreeman39
@BBV10s
@wearetherace
Always love the episodes whether they stick to the V10 era or not. At this point feel as though BBV10s has transcended its namesake and is more of a tongue in cheek “yeah things were better back then” look at F1. Would love to see some episodes pre-dating the V10 era too!

Love this comment on
@wearetherace
website about the Mansell 93 episode 🤝
Ever since the show launched some people like to moan (or get smart…) when we do something that isn’t purely about V10s, but the show name was only ever meant to be that - a catchy name!
Not the law 😂
🟡 To this day Nigel believes the yellow that led to this restart was called deliberately to rob him.
Literally to THIS day - he mentioned it to
@eddstrawF1
today!
(Also, as we discussed in our Mansell 93 episode, he’s wrong. The yellow was totally legit)
Here it is. The best day of the week.

day.
We know, we know. Try to remain calm. This episode... is a little different. We're dipping in to the world of IndyCar - more specifically, Nigel Mansell's 1993 season.

On today's episode of

, we're debating the top 🔟 driver moves of the V10 era!
Alain Prost's move to Williams in 1993 *just* made the list... but Matt Beer wasn't necessarily in total agreement! 😅

Iconic.
Thanks to those of you following this account already.
We do have plans for it, once the research for series 8 is over and Glenn has more time!

#BringBackV10s
!
Thank you so much to everyone who sent a question in - sorry we can't get to them all!
(We've already planned 3 bonus Q&A episodes for The Race Members' Club!)
"Fancy being an

marshal at the 1993 San Marino GP?"
"Absolutely! Where do I have to stand?"
"Inside of Tamburello. On the grass. When the track is damp. Waving a yellow flag."
"....k" 😳
Imagine if we'd had social media
#F1
#rumours
back when Arrows tried to sign Nigel Mansell in 1990.
Or when they tried to sign Adrian Newey in 1990 too.
Or when they tried to get Michael Schumacher in 1991.
What do those rumours have in common? They were all TRUE.
We had lots of Mansell/Williams nominations when asking for your favourite
#F1
helmet/car livery combinations.
But which Williams livery was the best match with Nigel's lid? 🤔
The 1992 Sasol Jordan was a good looking car that doesn't get the recognition it deserves in the beauty stakes because:
1) It followed the gorgeous 191
2) Performance wise, it was a piece of junk
Agree or disagree?
🎁 BONUS EPISODE!
As promised during series 9, Glenn and Matt go back through a chapter (and a bit more!) of Alex Zanardi’s book, reflecting on his 1999 season with Williams (and the tough decision to leave CART in the first place)
Available now in The Race Members’ Club!
BRING BACK V10s WORLD CUP FINALIST
#1
🇯🇵 2005 Japanese GP 🇯🇵
R1: Beat Imola 05, Europe 05, Canada 05
R2: Beat Europe 93, Japan 89, Spa 92
1/4: Beat Japan 94
1/2: Beat Europe 99
Can it see off Spa 98 in the final? We'll find out later this week!
In 2014 Alonso was asked which was his favourite
#F1
era. “I’d choose the V10 era, when we had very fast & light cars, often weighing 150-200kg less than the current ones, with nearly 1000bhp, so definitely those years were the ones that gave me the most excitement.” (2/2)
Admire those trying to think two steps ahead and saying if Williams kept Hill then Newey wouldn’t have left 👏
But it’s inevitable they’d have found another way to piss him off not long after! 😂
