Labour didn't deserve the 200 seats they got. They spent the election lying about NHS privatisation, lying about their spending/taxes, and sanctimoniously pretending to be progressive force with a less redistributive manifesto than the LDs while being led by an antisemite.

In 2022, 12,148 doctors with a foreign nationality joined the NHS. This year, 1,00 UK trained doctors havenโ€™t been given placements for junior doctor training. The current immigration rules prevent the NHS prioritising doctors from our universities over those from abroad.

This is the worst kind of journalism. They've taken something completely subjective and plotted it on a graph to make it seem authoritative. The underlying reason is to subtly push a certain kind of politics by making it seem more popular than it actually is.

Not to make a building out of a bee brick, but this is the reason everything is bad. It seems costless to add a fun biodiverse brick, but people who build houses are inundated with lots of requirements like this which added together make building homes more difficult.

The UK has some of the most expensive childcare and among the highest rates of subsidy. Full time childcare costs 30% of the median person's earnings, which after tax, student loans and NI contributions leaves mothers with a very high effective tax rate for entering work.

@__femb0t There's also an anonymous survey of biomedical researchers - finding that about half of them have done some form of self experimentation - all of them have kept it a secret. As far as we can tell, no one has died from self experimentation.

If the supply of a good is restricted by the government, clever tax and subsidy policy will only rearrange who gets to have it. I want abundant housing/childcare/healthcare/everything and will not settle for artful rationing.

We have very strict ratios regarding how many children can be cared for by an adult. Countries like Sweden, Denmark and Spain have no such prescriptive ratios at all. Childcare would be half as expensive if we had Norwegian ratios.

What opinions of yours have changed over the last month? I now genuinely believe that green spaces in cities are important public amenities
