This is my grandmother.
Last night she passed away after contracting COVID—19.
None of her 14 grandchildren could see her in her final days. It should not have had to be this way. It should never have to be that way for any family, but for some it is. (1/n)
Text from an unnamed friend of mine when the cute Ukrainian kids were on a few minutes ago: "I'm so drunk I thought Zelenksyy was going to come out."

Truth be told she was the matriarch of our family and is going to be truly missed by her five children and 14 grandchildren.
She fought it to the very end. She never let anyone push her around and even at the age of 89 it remained true for her final days.
RIP Lolly ❤️❤️
Novak Djokovic has had his visa cancelled and Australia plans to deport him on Thursday. His lawyers plan to appeal. Here’s the full story of how we got here. Produced Jack Kilbride.
She had to spend her final days alone because of how serious this outbreak is.
It really hits home just how devastating this crisis is for many, many families out there.
Lolly’s case of 5 children and 14 grandchildren. Imagine that for every other case in Ireland now. (2/n)
But this is more important than anything else going on right now.
Behind the numbers are families. Real people who deal with the grief like any other death of a family member.
Think of the front line healthcare workers who are helping to care for those in hospital (4/n)
The public health advice of stay in and stay safe isn’t said for a laugh, and while the vast majority are listening to it. Many were not until recently.
Don’t let this happen to your family. You will be bored, you will look at the four walls and you’ll want pints... (3/n)
This is the real impact. This is how real it is for many families. Don’t let a voice note or a post from the moron down the road tell you otherwise.

Frustration with technology gets to Transport Committee chairperson Kieran O’Donnell, as he tried to speak to Aviation Recovery Taskforce chairperson Chris Horn who appeared before the committee remotely.
There had been problems since the beginning of the committee sitting.
They are heroes in this society. They are doing everything to keep everyone and their families safe and trying to prevent this from happening to even more families.
All of these conspiracies going around WhatsApp and Twitter that are shared so quickly and believed by many (5/n)

Honestly have no idea what’s going on anymore.
Department of Health needs to go back to daily briefings, Government needs to have weekly briefings (at least), the Dail needs to be recalled as we’re in a pandemic.
The messaging needs to be crystal clear instead of the mess it is

If World Rugby is serious about stopping head injuries, they should be standing Wayne Barnes down, or at least make him explain his actions.
How a player was allowed get away with such recklessness is beyond me.
People in the Santry area - mind your cars. The catalytic converter of mine (Toyota Prius) was stolen overnight. Apparently not the first time this has happened in the area in recent weeks.

Sorry but Munster fans have regularly booed James Lowe (a current Ireland player) down in Thomond Park, and were more than happy to jeer at Johnny Sexton as well.
O'Gara's a pantomime villain, and is just as able to dish it out. It's shithousery. It's rivalry. It's sport.
Leinster fans booing O'Gara in the Aviva - Irish Rugby HQ. Classless. This is why Munster fans won't support Leinster. Personally, neutral but I do enjoy the fact RoG lives in Leinster fans heads.

36 boxes out of 130 opened so far
Guirke (SF) - 28%
Toibin (Aon) - 20%
Cassells (FF) - 16%
English (FG) -13%
French (FG) - 7%
Moore (SD) - 6%
McMenamin (GP) - 5%
Reilly (FG) - 5%
Based on that reading, Shane Cassells could be in trouble. Early days yet
I just realised that when asking the Health Minister about the governments messaging, I described it as ‘below-par’.
I wish I clever enough to have used this phrase on purpose considering the day that was in it.
FINAL COUNT
#MeathWest
Johnny Guirke (SF): Elected Count 1
Peadar Toibin (Aon): 11410 (+1696)
Damien English (FG): 9558 (+859)
Shane Cassells (FF): 8224 (+580)
Peadar Toibin and Damien English both elected. Shane Cassells loses his seat

Div. 1A holders Terenure play Ballynahinch behind closed doors in Lakelands, and they can call upon last year’s U20s scrum half Fintan Gunne for what I believe is the first time?
For context, last year’s attendance (for a final played by the same two clubs) was around 5700.

These next few weeks are going to be so hard for everyone. Mind yourselves. Talk to someone or seek help if you are struggling.
Those kind of ‘jokes’ aren’t funny. What Marty has had to endure in the last few days is beyond disgraceful.
It has to stop, now. ‘Jokes’ and ‘opinions’ won’t cover your arse if there are defamatory allegations involved.
I tried not to, but I caved. I saw a tweet implying I was with an underage girl while I was in college. I responded and he panicked saying it was a 'joke' . These 'jokes' are not funny. They're sick! Passing your shitty tweets off as 'jokes' is bullshit.
