LeBron: "Oh man who went to Michigan that I know?"
JaVale: "Pretty sure Moe did."
Ingram: "Yeah."
LeBron: "Who?"
JaVale: "The rookie."
LeBron: "We got a rookie?"
Ingram: "The big dude from Germany over there."
Wagner: "Someone called?"
LeBron: "Hey rookie what's your @?"
Mad Men is the most well-made of the “prestige dramas.” Every detail perfect. Zero moments that feel forced. Characters living full and complex lives on and off camera. I totally understand preferring other shows or even outright not liking Mad Men, but it deserves its laurels.
Hard to even wrap my head around what to say about MF DOOM. His run in 2003-05 is indisputable dominance. Four legitimate classic albums in two years, plus a bunch of other excellent stuff.
Devin Booker is 22; is averaging 26 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds per game; is expected to be a veteran leader on a weird roster; and has improved in each of his four NBA seasons despite absurd uncertainty around him. And there are still people who think he’s actually bad.
Can't make this up: Mike Budenholzer will be Ersan Ilyasova's SEVENTH coach with the Milwaukee Bucks alone.
Stotts, Krystkowiak, Skiles, Boylan, Drew, Kidd, Budenholzer.
Patrick Beverley / Landry Shamet
Paul George / Lou Williams
Kawhi Leonard / Rodney McGruder
Moe Harkless / Mfiondu Kabengele
Ivica Zubac / Montrezl Harrell
(With Lou and Trez usually closing)
The Lakers and Clippers are clearly above the Jazz, but Mitchell going crazy could save them. In other words ... for Utah to enter LA Galaxy, a lot will Landon Donovan.
Marcus Smart said he wants to stay with the Celtics. Said his heart’s here in Boston. Said not a lot of organizations care for players like the Celtics do. Said he loves Ainge and Stevens.
Remember when back-to-back NBA Drafts had the same top four teams in order?
1. 76ers: Ben Simmons / Markelle Fultz
2. Lakers: Brandon Ingram / Lonzo Ball
3. Celtics: Jaylen Brown / Jayson Tatum
4. Suns: Dragan Bender / Josh Jackson
Guess which team has the worst record now?
So I was debating how and when to share this, but I feel like it's important to be open:
Myself and six members of my family had COVID-19 over the past month. We're all through the worst of it, with my partner's father the only one who needed any extended hospitalization. (1/5)
Look, if KD comes back and reels off three straight wins to pull off a threepeat, then goes to the Knicks anyway ... my god. None of us will survive this app.

people actually dislike Rapsody because of the types of fans who say every woman rapper should be like her -- and both sides of that bullshit should watch this video.
Michael Jordan played 11 full seasons for the Bulls. In those seasons, he:
- led the NBA in points 11x
- led in Win Shares and BPM and VORP 9x (and second 2x)
- was top-5 in steals 9x
- had the highest total Game Score in each of his playoff series
- never lost to a lower seed

Not sure it matters to the players association in the same way Ohtani’s deferrals won’t in MLB. It’s an exception to the rule. No one will think this should be normal.
Mitchell was a late-lottery pick for a team that is built around a defense. He was asked to be an offensive focal point in a way that he wasn’t in college. He’s improved his ppg, apg and 3P% every season. He averaged 36.3 ppg on 53/52/94 in the playoffs. What more do we want?
Jimmy Butler, in addition to being one of the 12 best basketball players in the world, has perhaps the most inspiring backstory in the NBA. Bashing him for using leverage that he spent so long and worked so hard to earn is a really shitty thing to do.

god I really can't decide if that's the product of accidental auto-dictation or a good joke but I also never want to know the answer
Karl Malone raped a young teen while in college, impregnated her and then did not pay child support or largely acknowledge his son despite being an NBA All-Star for most of his childhood.
