#Advice
for our new teachers: 👩🏻🦳👨🏽🏫
1- If students are misbehaving, consider it is because they are confused & possibly don’t know how or want to ask for help (it may be embarrassing)
2- Your body language & tone you use when responding to students says more than your words do.
#Advice
for our new teachers: 👩🏻🔬👩🏽💼
1- Become the CEO of your classroom (Chief Energizing Officer). You have to be more energetic than the Ss.
2-Reward the behaviors you want to see more of and ignore the behaviors you don’t want. (Make it valuable to be on task)
#TeachBetter
#Advice
for our new teachers:👩🏼🏫👨🏽🏫
1-Have students put their pencils down before giving instructions.
2-Make sure you don’t talk over students. If they start talking over you, STOP. They will get the hint.
You are 1/2 way. Keep up the great work!!!

Finished Hacking School Discipline.
I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to have an impact on young people.
Be sure to take your time and highlight!
So many critical ideas are broken down, step-by-step. Implementation problems are addressed & examples are provided.
#Advice
for our new teachers: 👩🏼🔬🧔🏽
1- Be relentless in your efforts to help your students get to a level they could not go on their own.
2- Spend time developing the character of your students. This will help them when they face adversity that comes at the end of the year.

There are lots of motivating pictures on social media. They each mean something different to the viewer. My challenge to you this weekend is to reply to this tweet with the motivating picture that means the most to you and why. You never know who your reply will impact.

#Advice
for our new teachers: 👩🏽⚕️👨🏼💻
1. Be aware of your attitude towards students. (Do not let students dictate how you treat them.)
2. Get to know your students beyond your classroom. (Go see them at lunch, or even better, attend one of their non-school event.)

Thank you

for the learning opportunity tonight on “Coaching Beyond The Crisis.”
This will help me support teachers so that they can get better, do better, and be better.
We were short staffed in the cafeteria today so I provided a helping hand.
Serving school lunches is a high pressure job. It is hot, hard to hear, and lots of hungry customers.

Great questions addressed about Princpal-Assistant Principal relationship, & the relationship of the entire Administrative Team.
It is important that staff see the team as one unit. It is what people perceive, not what you say, that matters most.
@PrincipalKafele
Its important to recognize the students for their performance and hard work. We challenge the students

to get a little better each day so that at the end of the year they can demonstrate their mastery of state standards.

Some of the best lessons happen when teachers decide to make changes on the spot and allow the students to take over and lead the lesson.

Students who attend X-STREAM Fest are provided opportunities to be leaders.
We continue to find ways to empower student so that they can lead when school starts in August.
These young leaders have already started by greeting students when they arrive to Manatee Middle School.
The students in Ms. Brost’s World History Class began their Project Based Learning on the 5 Pillars of Islam. Some of the students choose to make Google Slides while others decided to make a rap, a news segment, a play, and a video recording.

It can be hard to understand why a student continues to make the same poor choices everyday.

suggest creating a plan for the week as an AP.
I am organized but I keep track of tasks that are given to me. I don’t plan the time between. This will change my impact when we start up school.
