Last night deputies responded to a 60th Avenue N.E. home for a possible burglary in progress. Upon arrival it was discovered that a small feline was causing the sounds that prompted the call. The cat was turned over to Domestic Animal Services for safekeeping.

Petland Naples reached out to the CCSO wishing to donate an ongoing monthly supply of dog food for a year to our K9 Unit. The donation is in part of Petland’s continued support of law enforcement and the active role K9 teams play to help keep the community safe.
Deputies are evacuating residents on 18th Avenue NW and Jung Blvd. in Golden Gate Estates due to a brush fire in the area. Wilson Blvd. is closed between 24th Ave NE and 47th Ave NE due to the fire.

With temperatures well below 40 degrees this morning we are in Immokalee giving out free piping hot coffee and pastries to people who are preparing to board buses and head out to start their work day. Stay warm, everyone!
As temps hovered in the low 50s, deputies served up more than 200 cups of hot chocolate and provided light jackets to students without coats as they walked to Pinecrest Elementary School in Immokalee this morning.
Deputies were in Immokalee starting at 5:30 am distributing hand sanitizer, gloves and other items, while reminding residents to wash their hands frequently and stay home as much as possible.
More proof that deputies never know what the day will bring. Cpl. Johnny Cisnero was on a call for service Monday when the caller offered to let him hold a young kangaroo, or joey.
“I guess you could say I am now a member of our Kangaroo Unit,” he said.
This precious pooch had a ruff night during last night’s rainstorm until Cpls. Salls and Vaughan came along to the rescue. They reunited the pup with its owner after it was found in the middle of a street in Golden Gate after the rains.

New Hope Ministries dropped by the Naples Jail Center this morning with a delivery of fresh baked scones for the corrections officers. The scones were divided up so that both the day and night shift agency members can enjoy during one of their breaks.

Due to the cold weather conditions last night Immokalee Patrol deputies distributed blankets to the homeless. The blankets were donated by Pastor Bobby Kline and parishioners at Corkscrew Baptist Church.
