We are witnessing Google’s real-time censorship of the term “mass formation psychosis” as mentioned by

The “never sell” Bitcoin crowd is so cringe. Bitcoin is meant to be used as a currency.
Back in mid 2022 I decided to sell some Bitcoin at $23k to put towards a down payment on a house with my then-fiancée, several months before our wedding.
I desperately wanted to buy a house
In Ledger’s 2021 funding round, they brag about how much crypto is stored on Ledger devices.
Stop to think: how do they know this? The only way to know is to collect extended public keys.
So Ledger Live knows your XPUBs and IP address 🤯
I've been deeply troubled by the widespread support for COVID vaccine mandates. It can be difficult to present a comprehensive argument against mandates – so I decided to write one!
We must educate our family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.
Terrifying how our elites are so quick to cancel the Russian people as a whole. Deplatform an entire country from the global financial system, destroy their stock market, decimate their life savings.
This can happen to your country at any moment.
In ~24 hours:
- Kazakhstan government shuts down country's internet, then resigns
- Italy declares mandatory vax for age 50+
- France's Macron says unvaxed are not citizens
- Canada's Trudeau blames unvaxed for lockdowns, missed surgeries, missed cancer screenings
Yesterday I spoke at the
@BOSCityCouncil
hearing about Boston's ongoing state of emergency and the public COVID mandate (vax pass).
While
@MayorWu
lifted the public mandate, she's still pursuing her city employee mandate. This is reprehensible and needs to be better publicized.
Sat outside at a restaurant today. Was asked by 2 staff to confirm our dog was a service dog. Was asked if we were over 21. Was told we must order food by the time drinks arrive. Was told to remove water bottle from table.
250 years ago, Bostonians went to war over a tax on tea
Nuremberg Code:
“The voluntary consent of the human subject is absolutely essential…without the intervention of any element of force, fraud, deceit, duress, overreaching, or other ulterior form of constraint or coercion”
.
@NYCMayor
De Blasio defends vax mandates: “Human beings are pretty predictable. If you say, ‘Your paycheck depends on it, or your ability to enjoy life, and go do the things you want to do,’ people will make the practical decision … but we’re not pushing hard enough"
The more I think about it, the only way Bitcoin wins in the long-term is for every wallet to implement CoinJoin and PayJoin. You can't have a superior money without fungibility.
Canada should be a wake up call for everyone in the Bitcoin space.
.
@SenWarren
is a disgrace to Massachusetts, birthplace of the American Revolution.
How did she start with “consumer protection” and end with protecting the banks?
She will leave no political legacy. Not even a footnote in history.
this bill from
@SenWarren
massively expands the bank secrecy act, imposing bank-like KYC rules on non-custodial software products, including FOSS. and it’s gaining steam with 5 new co-sponsors 👀
this would be disastrous for
#bitcoin
and crypto in USA
Ledger knows your IP address, they know exactly how much crypto you have. They know your mailing address and your email address.
And worse, they don't understand why it's wrong to collect this private data. They brag about it!
People should be terrified that
@Ledger
can claim for marketing how much crypto their users collectively have 🙈
Is your crypto/Bitcoin part of their 20% figure? If so, get it out now. 👇
Over 9 years ago, I asked r/bitcoin how to learn to code for Bitcoin. Mike Hearn, NVK, and others kindly offered advice.
@FOUNDATIONdvcs
now employs 20 Bitcoiners and makes some of the best Bitcoin hardware and software, all open source.
I am humbled.
The original Ledger Nano did not have a screen. Ledger quickly realized that was a mistake.
Imagine your phone is compromised and displays a fake address. Only a screen on your hardware wallet can stop this attack!
Truly sad to see Bitkey, a decade later, repeat this mistake.
Mayor of Boston calling her own residents “trolls” for expressing anger and frustration at the vaccine mandates and unending state of emergency.
Over a quarter of Boston’s minorities are unvaxed and excluded from society, fired from their city jobs.
I wrote this blog post almost three years ago. I decided not to publish it at the time because it seemed like NVK was backing down, and I don't do drama.
Now though, with mainstream influencers weighing in, it's time to put this matter to rest.
- Biden says you must keep your kids away from unvaxed
- NYC's DA to stop seeking prison sentences for armed robbery
- Australia detains and deports Novak Djokovic
...but everything is okay, right?
Coinkite's BBQr: A Troubling Development in Bitcoin Airgapped Wallet Standards
When building one of the first airgapped hardware wallets over in 2020, we

I think Boston is done. Will likely move to NH this year.
"I think the public health emergency now is of such a nature that it outweighs the competing claims of harm ..." - Judge Jeffrey Locke
Mass Formation; vax mandate is obviously not stopping COVID.
Is it possible to have a substantive conversation about hardware wallet pros & cons without inviting anger and attacks from all sides? Here’s my attempt at a non-biased thread!
I just published my thoughts on
@wutrain
's upcoming Boston COVID vaccine mandate – but my thoughts are likely applicable to any city implementing mandates.
Most concerning, the mandate will disproportionately impact minorities.
Details in this thread👇
So, from what I can tell:
1. Hospital is hit by some kind of projectile
2. Hamas immediately says it was Israel
3. All major media runs story saying it was Israel
4. Israel takes some time to investigate, says it was a terrorist rocket fallen short
5. Major media doesn't update
Let’s be clear. Free and open source software (and hardware) is important. “Open source” has a widely recognized definition. If you are not FOSS, you are “source available” – not “open source.” Challenging the definition for business reasons dilutes the open source movement.
Big
@SiaTechHQ
milestone today – the network just reached 600 TB in used storage! That’s over 20% growth in the last 30 days and over 250% growth so far in 2019.
3/ here’s how we do it: public addresses are sent by Ledger Live to our $BTC and $ETH nodes. Our data team then analyzes public information available on-chain to estimate the total value linked to these addresses.
Boston has been pushed to its limits in the last 2 years. Where I live, in the Financial District, around half the retail stores are closed. Office employees are now working remotely, and tourists are no longer able to travel. Downtown is desolate.
New blog post!
@SiaTechHQ
will be the first non-financial application of blockchain tech to scale to tens of thousands of users and beyond. Our industry deserves to see useful, scalable, and realistic applications.
Another major loss for Boston’s
@MayorWu
.
If she can’t mandate a vax for her own employees, then mandating a vax on the entire city seems even more ludicrous.
What a horrible first several weeks in office. What a waste of time and energy.
The appeals court has sided with the city's public-safety unions, throwing out a lower-court judge's ruling and installing an injunction preventing Mayor Michelle Wu from enforcing the employee vaccine mandate.
Fight for fungibility. Otherwise Bitcoin fails in the long term.
Without fungibility there is ultimately no privacy. Without privacy there is ultimately no freedom, no sovereignty.
In the wake of the Ledger Recover controversy, I've been thinking more about wallet security architecture.
So many are looking forward to
@blocks
"hardware wallet" – but I think Bitkey is dangerous for sovereign
Bitcoin use.
Summary 🧵 below.
Downtown Boston covered with trash.
@MayorWu
it would be nice if you could walk around the city and take care of basic services, like snow removal and garbage cleanup. Instead of spending all your energy on mandates.
It really does feel like a big push for WWIII.
Constant rhetoric like "NATO should establish a no fly zone" actually means "NATO should shoot down Russian planes" – this is how you start a world war.
The war propaganda coming from the Ukrainian government is out of control. Out of freaking control. The politicians in place there are trying to start WWIII.
This Thanksgiving, I am thankful for those that came before us to fight for the freedoms we now take for granted.
This year has showed us that freedom isn’t static; it’s fleeting. It’s fragile. It takes enormous work to preserve freedom.
I can’t believe we’ve reached a point where so many Bitcoiners are resisting well-designed protocol upgrades because they could lead to “more shitcoining”
Maybe you should instead be thinking about how these upgrades can enable more people to achieve sovereignty and freedom.
The money transmitter charges are so ludicrous. How can you be a money transmitter without the ability to take possession of the funds?
If I mail a check, the postal service is not a money transmitter.
Likewise, routing transactions is not the same as transmitting money.
Everyone needs to watch this. I am in total shock that this is our mayor.
She can’t even complete a sentence or give an answer. The reporters are asking simple, important questions.
This is why I’m looking at homes in NH. Living like this for another year is untenable.
I'm launching a weekly newsletter called State of Hardware. Each week, we'll evaluate hardware’s impact on society through the lenses of privacy, sovereignty, and freedom.
Our first post is "Falling out of Love with Apple, Part 1" – please check it out!
The government just ruined two lives – and I can't figure out what law was broken.
Money transmission? Tornado Cash is noncustodial. Profiting because bad people used Tornado Cash? Companies profit from bad people using their services every single day.
Extremely dystopian.
UPDATE: Tornado Cash founder Roman Storm arrested by the FBI, while co-founder Semenov added to list of U.S. sanctioned companies and individuals

’s embrace of freedom tech. Integrating Monero swaps gives their users best in class privacy tools.
It’s important to remember that Bitcoin isn’t the “why” – freedom is.
Gatekeep all you want. We'll bulldoze right through you like we've unapologetically done since day one.
Cross chain atomic swaps between BTC and XMR are here, we've been hard at work to make it a reality, wipe the tears from your delicate little laser eyes.

Can assure you no one from

will ever associate with the WEF. We will do everything possible to deliver sovereignty and privacy tools based on strong open source principles.
Passport is now priced at $199. No discounts, no sales.
Passport at $199 is a no-brainer, especially with its integrated battery and included industrial grade microSD card. Plus free USA shipping.
Coldcard? Add those items to your cart and you're paying $212 before shipping.
It’s time we bring freedom tech and self-custody to more people with Passport.
We’re reducing Passport’s price to $199, making it more accessible than ever to secure your Bitcoin with beautifully designed hardware that is open-source and easy-to-use.
This is nothing to celebrate.
@MayorWu
invented these arbitrary “thresholds” last week after pressure to remove her mandates grew too large.
A total failure. For 34 days, Boston – home of the American Revolution – was segregated.
We must never allow this to happen again.
UPDATE: As of today, our public health data show that Boston is officially below the 3 critical thresholds for heightened COVID protections, so we are lifting the proof of vaccination requirement.
Extremely irresponsible to be suggesting that bitcoin on an exchange is safer than self custody. Especially after FTX.
Holding 200+ BTC in a computer connected to the internet, especially as a prominent dev, is beyond reckless.
Mayor of Boston calling her own residents “trolls” for expressing anger and frustration at the vaccine mandates and unending state of emergency.
Over a quarter of Boston’s minorities are unvaxed and excluded from society, fired from their city jobs.
Perhaps the biggest risk-calculation/moral dilemma of the war so far. A massive Russian convoy is abt 30 miles from Kyiv. The US/NATO could likely destroy it. But that would be direct involvement against Russia and risk, everything. Does the West watch in silence as it rolls?
Bitcoin must remain fungible. Any attack on Bitcoin’s fungibility degrades its utility and value.
Blockchain analysis firms must be rendered obsolete. Federal agencies must be aggressively challenged in court.
Boston’s
@MayorWu
is capitulating…slowly. This idiotic new policy would end and restart the city employee vax mandate based on what % of the population tests positive.
Can you imagine being a firefighter, being fired and re-hired every 3 months? Insane.
Many people have asked how we filmed the videos for our new website.
But they are not filmed – they are all rendered with Unreal Engine!
Here's how we did it 👇
It’s possible to believe mRNA vaccines are scientific breakthroughs with the potential to cure some of the worst diseases, like HIV – while also being hesitant to take this first one.
Mandatory vaccines violate liberal values. Free men and women should have the right to choose.
Apple's headset marketing is strangely dystopian. Wearing it while playing with your kids, living in your pod-prison.
The tech itself is impressive, but Apple's vision for the future is lonely and isolating.
Technology should empower us to thrive in the real world.
Boston’s
@MayorWu
positioning a small army outside her home to defend against…peaceful constituents protesting her mandates.
She refers to these upset, hurting Bostonians as “trolls”

A lot of cope in these replies. Here are the biggest problems with Wasabi employing Chainalysis:
(1) The fees you are paying to the Wasabi coordinator are being used to pay an unethical blockchain analysis company, which in turn harms the privacy of all network participants and
Okay so Wasabi Wallet is grabbing all utxos users feed it, and running it through a chain analysis server in order to filter out the blacklisted ones.
Is that right? How does that not defeat its own purpose?
Genuine question.
So Biden’s new energy policy is for half the USA’s electricity to come from solar cells that are manufactured in China with Uighur slave labor, powered by coal? This won’t make us energy independent, it will make us further dependent on China.
That feeling when you eat a meal at a restaurant and feel full and sluggish, but cook the same meal at home and feel energized and focused.
Only key difference is the oils.
Just set up an old Ledger Nano S for testing. How does anyone actually use this? My hand cramped up when restoring the seed, took me 5 minutes to enter in 12 words. Took 60 seconds to enter in my PIN.
Such antiquated technology compared to our

Passport.
I am deeply grateful for our hardware wallet competitors, many of whom have shot themselves in the foot in the last several months.
I still hold great respect for

As of February 1, 30% of Boston's black residents are unvaccinated – and therefore effectively excommunicated from city life. Due to your mandate, of course.
Very impressed with

Our government benefits from creating an unending state of fear, disease, addiction, malnutrition.
We need a new paradigm of sovereignty, health, fitness, and hope.
The fact that fentanyl is the number one cause of death for people in the prime of their lives and suicide is number two is so damn depressing.
The fact that there are practically no discussion about this in the mainstream is frightening.
For many years Bitcoiners (myself included) have been advocating for a future with everything built on Bitcoin.
Bitcoiners have also been praying for increasing fees to ensure that mining continues to be profitable.
Now it's all finally happening – and I am happy about it.
Some
@FOUNDATIONdvcs
employees are vaccinated, some are not. I don’t know exactly who is and isn’t. It’s none of my business to ask our employees if they are vaccinated or to force our way into their private medical decisions.
But at the same time, being forced to show our papers – in the very city that was the birthplace of the American revolution – will be even more heart wrenching.
We cannot imagine living like that, because we wouldn't be living at all.
