My heart breaks for all those picking up the damage left behind by today's storms, but specifically for the town of Argyle. Likely a large tornado tore through the community, wiping out many buildings including the Apple Grove Lutheran Church. I hope you all stayed safe. #wiwx

Now, this is insane...west Madison is bright and sunny late this morning, and downtown is foggy! Our station is only about 5 miles from the Capitol, and this is likely going to create a 10-20 degree difference in high temperatures between the two today #wiwx

We have a chance to see the northern lights tonight! However, expect mostly cloudy skies as they appear after the sun sets. Also, I'm told that if you get away from the city lights and set your camera to "30 second exposure" you can get some really good shots!

Janesville, are you okay?? Reports are showing a dew point of 81 degrees, which is insane. That would lead to a heat index above 100, as shown below. Dew points will drop into the 50s by Wednesday afternoon--conditions will feel much better through tomorrow and Thursday. #wiwx

By Wednesday, we'll be tracking what could potentially be a big rain event for southern Wisconsin. There is still a lot of uncertainty with how much rain we see, because if this system shifts north/south, it would impact our totals. Many rain chances exist late in the week.

My heart goes out to the community in Joplin, MO as we remember the EF-5 tornado that struck the town 12 years ago today. I had the privilege of working there before moving to Madison, and I learned just how strong the word "community" can mean. They will always be in my heart!
