a director leaving unequivocally does not equal cancellation! many shows go through different directors between seasons. douglas has a unique tone, but the writing is the most important thing- neil brought in john finnemore to write season 2 and the quality didn't suffer at all

good omens is an INCREDIBLY successful show. if prime does cancel it, it won't be for this. they renew based on viewing statistics and the scripts that neil hands in. if and when it comes to filming, there are many more brilliant directors that can be sourced.
