2. In church life, it influences which texts you prioritise for preaching, what sermon anecdotes you tell, which people you spend time with socially, who you approach as sources of wisdom, expertise, authority. It affects who you listen to, trust. It fosters MALE as DEFAULT.

One of my closest friends died suddenly last year. Every month I tend pots at her grave, containing plants I also install in pots at home. When I top hers up, I top up mine too. As it's getting hotter and drier, I've introduced more succulents. It helps with the grief.

Prayer is often used as a method of domination by certain men. I was once on the phone with a guy high up in one church denom about an abuse case in which he admitted he had failed, and he suddenly started praying over the phone that I'd be "more teachable."

Protect women, face serious consequences. Revile and harass women – a slap on the wrist will suffice. Trust the courts? Women so often bear the shame of church court failures. Courts remind us over and over, how little we are worth, how little abuse means in the church. 9/11

8. I have heard another comp elder say women are particularly susceptible to being gullible, to being emotional. Imagine what role these views play when a woman is being abused and thinks if she should disclose it.

A few yrs ago, I met weekly w/a few women to pray for revival/change in our church. What changed was my family's willingness to stay. Yesterday, I met someone who left after us, who affirmed, apologised, thanked us, named others who also left. Revival apparently takes many forms
