patient from a poor family in need of financial support for ration/food/medicines pls DM. OPDs are currently happening remotely for many & patients are having to purchase medicines (in some cases for several months at a time) in their villages.
I always point out that every govt. which has the opportunity but chooses not to prioritise healthcare is culpable. You can’t become “ pandemic ready” just like that. Requires years of consistent & adequate investment in quantity & quality of health personnel & services.

The way to respond to rising cases is NOT to reduce testing but to test even more till the positivity rate is consistently <5%. Testing less can lull some people into thinking a possible peak has been achieved but that will only be artificial & not reflective of the reality.
