Whatever happens electorally, the fight against fascism is a marathon. We may get success tomorrow or maybe we won’t, but mightier empires have crumbled. If we keep doing our parts—no matter how inconsequential it may seem now—we will see the end of this.

Most of these Brahmin men have lived sheltered lives and barely face any adversity. Their subjectivity is shaped by violence and exploitation of those below them. And so they keep craving to inflict more on others. This is why their idea of "peace" is rooted in more bloodshed.

This is common Knowledge but let me reiterate this again: The Bhagavad Gita as a defining text of Hinduism is a colonial-modern construction. In precolonial India, many Mahabharatas barely mention the Gita or omit the Gita altogether. Small 🧵 and Two examples.

Don't have the energy to rage at this but it is common scholarly knowledge that the Mahabharata did grow out of Brahmanicial reaction towards Mauryan Heterodoxy. So it is not unlikely at all that later parts of the text attempts to synthesize diverse religious systems/values.

2/ We start with Sarala Dasa's Fifteenth Century Odia Mahabharata . The earliest Vernacular Mbh in Eastern India. The Gita as far as I know does not find a mention in Sarala's text. Krishna finds no need to convince Arjuna to fight the war. The war just begins.

@TewariAlok @ShekharGupta Well because you need money to print money. Useless to have 30, 40 when you have immediate higher denomination. Also the logic to not have a 1000 given was that higher currency will lead to more hoarding. Yet after that we have 2000. So what's the point of not having a 1000?

The only canadian citizens that need an Indian Visa are Indian Canadians who may want to return home to families. Modi's "Ballistic Missile" like all his programs hurts Indians the most.

Kashmiri students booked under UAPA for (apparently) celebrating India's loss at the World cup! In what world is supporting or not supporting a sports team leading into being booked under terror charges?

Why do Brahmins like to exoticize themselves? Always find this surprising about them. They will spin the most mundane act (oral transmission of knowledge) with an esoteric spin and claim it as a monumental achievement.

No wonder why they want to destroy Brahmins. Amazed at how they have preserved this ancient system of imparting vedas. He is embedding muscle and sense into audible memory. This is how the oral tradition was carried forward purely. Each sense was involved and moved to a rhythm.

@UrsulaKPenguin @nabihaiderali Absolutely! I am not contending that. I am just suggesting how this idea of teaching Gita as a way to educate about Hinduism is a modern construction. No religious text should be imposed by a secular government. That is the fundamental principle we should abide by.
