Stats on railway construction... The entire TransCanada Canadian Pacific Railway was built across 4,700 km in 4 years, between 1881-85...that’s 1,175km of rail per year, or 3.2km built per day. The Ottawa LRT was built across 12.5km in 6yrs, or 2km/yr, 0.005km=5m/day.

WEIRD WEDNESDAY The fountain in Ottawa’s Confederation Park downtown is much older than the park itself...the park opened in 1967 but the fountain stood at Trafalgar Square in London, UK from 1845- 1948. The chipped edge is from a German bomb blast during the WW2 Blitz.

Last summer we watched 3 little ducklings grow up on the lawn. They became such good friends, hanging out, always coming over to say hello...then they left for winter. Today we sat outside for the first time in months & 3 ducks landed & came up on shore to say hello... 😭
