We couldn’t find our 13 yr old son last night. It was getting late and he hadn’t come home. Wasn’t responding to texts & calls. As worry set in, my wife suddenly remembered she herself physically drove him to the church and dropped him off to go camping with the scouts. 🤦🏻‍♂️

My wife is an artist, and over the years I’d estimate about half her commissioned portraits feature a person that has died. A thought occurred to me that when someone dies, all the photos that will ever exist for that person have been taken. A painting brings a new perspective.

Someone explain to me why early kickoffs for PAC-12 games would be a bad thing. No fans in stadium, so it’s a pure television event. 9AM Pacific is Noon Eastern. Prime national TV slot. No one watches PAC-12 after dark. Most of the country is sleeping. I think it’s smart.

The BYU acceptance rate bragging has to stop. Acceptance rate in higher ed is often a barometer for how elite a school is, like Harvard or Stanford. But that metric doesn’t apply to BYU, because it has built-in demand of 100,000 LDS kids across the globe. It’s not the same.
