There's one less Toffee waking up this morning...
After a short battle with pneumonia, on top of his Alzheimer's my Dad, Norman Travis passed peacefully and calmly in Oxton Grange care home.
RIP Dad. 💙💙💙
Would have been Dad's 86th birthday today.
Instead I'm meeting a humanist minister to plan the running order for his forthcoming funeral.
I must remember he's in a better place, wherever that may be, after the ravages of Alzheimer's. 💙
So...
9 years ago today I was lying in Cardiac ICU at York District after a heart attack whilst cycling.
Most grateful for the treatment I got and thought it appropriate to celebrate.
Cheers one and all.

To give a bit of further perspective, I had a gastroscopy on the same day. Tube down the throat was way worse than the one up the ass. Fortunately they gave it a rinse in between...
Earlier this year I dropped my phone and smashed the screen...
Bought a new one...
Guess what...
All my WhatsApps, photos, emails etc , etc, etc transferred across to my new phone...
Not one disappeared...
Not even the COVID jab appointment ones...
Strange but true.
I've been struggling of late with a couple of health issues. It was pretty damned good to go out and Bimble 35 miles on my bike this morning.
Even more pleasing my BP post ride was 111/81 and my resting pulse is in the 50's.
Got to say I'm deeply touched by the multitude of condolence messages I've received from all quarters of the Xsphere. Thankyou, one and all.
Here's a photo of my dad in his pomp at one of his sister's weddings at St Anne's in Rocky.
Rest well Dad💙
Today is my 65th birthday Eve....
As I'm milking it as much as possible going away for a few nights so expect photos of cold English beach scenes, agreeable food, possibly some alcoholic beverages and according to the Met Office, rain😉
@john_actuary
Bizarre manner to run a lab. Hazard a guess that the "not for profit" Brum Uni lab, "mothballed" earlier this year had more exacting QC...
Hell of a couple of months..
Dad's Alzheimers worsened in lockdown, now in a care home in Oxton. 😢
Mum had heart attack last Sunday night, Arrowe Park until Friday, transferred to Broad Green, had angiogram... 2 coronary arteries fully blocked. Bypass incoming. Can't visit😢

...And then asking him to do the same every Saturday for 6 months, against, Australia, Pakistan, Bangla Desh and even the Netherlands...

Apart from the hideous area that away fans get.
In my youth, b4 the Park End was redeveloped, they always got that end. Seemed unfair in some ways that visitors were thrown in the most dilapidated section.
Then I had a couple of trips to SJP and climbed those stairs...
@saxelbyhorses
I knackered both my calves 9 weeks ago. When I hit a curb and went over the top my cleats decided to try and keep me attached so both were very bruised.
@DW1878
Can't understand why either Toffees or Mags are arguing here. We are cut from the same cloth. So my lot have won lots more historically, but there's no getting away from the fact Toon get big crowds and have a terrific away following. Wednesday night in January is not a fair comp
Bit of a more cheerful post than those of late...
Happy 36th birthday to Joe Travis...
How quickly do the years pass?
This graduation photo was 15 years ago too...
Make on whilst you can.
My dad is 84 and in care due to Alzheimers, tested +ve earlier this, week....
Had a few rough days but has just rediscovered his mojo and simultaneously tested -ve on lft!
Lovely roast turkey, stuffing and gravy ciabatta with toasties, but scoffed it before I got a photo...
Mulled wine and Bailey's hot choc to get me in the seasonal mood...
Bacon, black pudding and poached egg banjo to kick off Crimbo Day.
No booze yesterday as I had a belly ache.
Roll on Crimbobeer o'clock...
MerryCrimbo one and all. 🦃⛄🦃⛄🦃

It's likely not the kids who will die, just the adults they come into contact with. You know, dinner ladies, receptionists, cleaners and teachers

Brighton, Brentford and Fulham look like consummate Prem performers. At half way point in season sit 7th, 8th and 9th.
Left behind.
Just had a full English cooked very ably by somebody else (hotel chef). Rounded it off with a round of buttered toast with blackcurrant jam. Copious black tea helped it down and now feel set up for a very good day.
Going for a wander around Skipton before a spot of Grandpa-ing.
10 year old photo popped up. Taking the piss about not being allowed to put central heating on.
Also illustrates that 10 years older, I'm 2 stone lighter due solely to my obsession with cycling. Here's to another 10....
Every day now I have a new female follower, no longer naked and bereft of the long list of numbers. No tweets ever either. Bizarre.
Oh and you've got to actively search to interact with people you've interacted with for years. Sad.
