Hold the vets that treat these horses accountable when one breaks down. Make all vet records public. Don’t allow owners to deny knowledge of vet work. Regulated pharmacy on every track. More surveillance.

How about make learning free for all then nobody will have to go in debt to contribute to society. I don’t need others to suffer the same as me. No idea why some need others to feel the same financial pains.

Horse did the correct thing and went to another horse. Even if they had run away after getting loose, kicking or slapping the horse does nothing.

I don’t care if someone feels they need to dress or act in a way that makes them feel like they are a women. I do care about males in women’s sports. I do care about males in my locker room. Bathrooms should be unisex with privacy stalls. I don’t care who I wash my hands next to.

Good on the vets. Now back up permitted meds and tapping at least 30 days. Allow those vets to see the actual condition of the horse. Good horsemanship should not be about being the best at getting a horse past the vets. Good horsemanship is having a fit, healthy and sound horse.

Does not have to be a dire situation to justify an abortion. It is ok if the woman just does not want to be pregnant. No more no less.

Sexism. Shame you push this sexism. Men have shown time and time again that many have issues with their emotions. Anger is an emotion.

They want to compete in a sport not a beauty contest. Short are more comfortable as they are not riding up their asses like the bikinis do. Also the sand has a harder time getting into shorts than a bikini. If bikinis bottoms were better for sports the men would be wearing them.

The public shouldn’t have to fund what racing creates. Everyone involved with racing should be paying a share of aftercare costs. The biggest share/responsibility paid for by those that created the horse, the breeder.

If racing as an entity and horses’ connections as a whole would keep track of the athletes they supposed love, there would be no need for sm posts begging for help for those athletes. Livestock or loved athletes? Racing must make a choice.

Old bows should not be racing. They often rebow or breakdown in the opposite leg due to protecting the old bow. There is no such thing as “racing sound”.

HBPA rightfully blames breeders for breeding weaker horses but forgets it’s the drug using trainers that get those weak horses to win and thus be placed into the breeder’s program. If the weak horses can’t make it to the races then breeders won’t be able to sell them.

If a horse can’t get over some mats on an uneven surface without showing as lame then they shouldn’t be racing at 35+mph over a distance of more than a vetcheck jog.
“Ultimately, HISA has the resources, the regulatory power, and sophisticated lab testing that can root out illegal drug use, research track surfaces, and analyze breeding patterns. HISA has the potential to improve the sport and create a safe horseracing animal that can thrive…”
"The consequences of the Texas Racing Commissioners' opposition to these efforts simultaneously leaves our horses at risk and our tracks on the path to ruin. Texas deserves better," writes Robert Schmidt, MD in his Letter to the Editor.
““They'll never go ten flat again in their lives and if they do they won't win the race,” said Baugh. “You are buying a survivor. A survivor is good on the one hand that it survived, but what things have already been done to the horse that you'd prefer not to have done?””

A rider is entitled to hold their line. They are not entitled to push another horse out of the way because they got themselves boxed in.

Social media is revealing what many of us have known for years from being in racing. Now people like you are crying because the secrecy racing enjoyed is now gone. No more mushrooms.

Hoof with the pain won’t break but the horse sure is going to use themselves different while protecting the painful hoof during a race. Resulting in a poor performance, not fair to bettors,or could injure a new area from shifting stride to alleviate the pain of the hoof.

If the horse showed no unsoundness they should not have been tapping him. Vet,trainer, owner and regulations all to blame. Vet, trainer and possibly owner knew the horse was sore and ran them anyhow. Vet and trainer should have known the horse had a full belly of worms.

“Raceride” today is bs. Raceriding is not about making another rider take up sharply to avoid a spill. Raceriding is about outsmarting the other riders by pace or positioning etc. A good racerider can jam up another horse without putting them in harms way.
