I'm old enough to remember the entire MLB going on strike for almost an entire year so players could protest a salary cap on multimillion dollar contracts. This strike is about something bigger than the players themselves, which is good for a change.

NEWS: United Teachers of Dade, the teacher's union for Miami-Dade (one of Florida's largest unions) is likely to be decertified. As of last week, only 58.4% of members were paying dues. A law passed earlier this year set threshold at 60%. Must send numbers to state tomorrow.

A judge actually wrote "It's the First Amendment, stupid" while ruling against Florida threatening TV stations that air ads the governor's office disagrees with. Lawyer behind the effort has already resigned, saying they had to draw the line somewhere.

UPDATE: as I said earlier - Cannot confirm this was ATCs “walkout.” The massive disruption in flights does seem to be a direct consequence of the mandate though: it’s Southwest employees calling out. It’s not “weather” or “normal staffing issues.”
