Today we welcomed The World, the largest private residential ship in the world, to Port Everglades. The ship is home to 165 individual on-board homes. Residents wake up to new scenery every few days as they cruise the globe.

Port Everglades is closed until further notice by order of the U.S. Coast Guard. Cruise passengers should contact their cruise lines and airlines for further information about upcoming travel.
Port Everglades is working with the State of Florida to support the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic by arranging for vaccinations for port workers, including ship’s crew member, at Cruise Terminal 4 beginning today through June 21 from 8AM to 5PM seven days a week.
Largest cargo ship to ever come to Port Everglades, MSC’s Cape Sounio is arriving now – 112,836 gross tons, and 11,037 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units, container measurement).

Broward County and the Port Everglades Unified Command have approved Holland America Line’s Zaandam and Rotterdam cruise ships to enter Port Everglades. The ships are entering the Port now.

The # of gas terminals in operation at Port Everglades remains at 9 out of 12. Fuel continues to arrive by ship. There are 3 fuel ships at berth and 2 waiting offshore. Generally, a ship with gas has more than 1 day of fuel.
Eight cruise ships and more than 50,000 passengers will travel through Port Everglades today. Comes close to our world-record of 55,885 set in March 2016. Expect heavy traffic.

’ Rotterdam are heroes at sea. While at sea to safely come into port behind Hurricane Nicole, Rotterdam’s crew provided humanitarian support this week by rescuing 13 people from a makeshift boat.

Fuel deliveries to gas stations are expected to increase over the next few days as more petroleum companies reopen. Loading and delivering petroleum products is a 24/7 operation that was disrupted on April 12 during the unprecedented storm that flooded greater Fort Lauderdale.

We intend to close at 6PM by order of the US Coast Guard. However, USCG has approved allowing petroleum trucks to continue deliveries to retail gas stations until early Monday morning or until winds reach 35 miles per hour for safety reasons.

, with 11 out of 12 gas terminals operating. The privately owned petroleum companies located at the port anticipate having all 12 terminals in operation by day’s end
We made our list, checked it twice. Now we’re waiting to see if Santa will deliver another single-day passenger world record today with 8 cruise ships and a ferry. We’re expecting 54,000 guests, but we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we exceed our world record of 55,885!
