Sad that the average income fan families can’t afford to go to baseball because of large player salaries but thanks to the salary cap in football, ticket prices are still pretty affordable to see a sub .500 NFL team in the same city as Shohei Ohtani

When people say “Pay MiLBers more” they aren’t asking for huge salaries. Maybe something like... pay them in the offseason, pay them in spring training, or give them a little bump in salary during the season. Something small to the organisation means a lot to the players

In 2011 I started opening night in the Appalachian League against this guy I was 90-92mph that night. Really feeling myself. Feeling good throwing that🔥 Looked at the charts after I pitched He was 97- 98mph I instantly felt insignificant and was like “What am I doing here”

I lived in student housing because: A) walking distance to the field. B) fully furnished C) provided a five month lease It cost me $736 a month. My paycheck was $729 every two weeks. The team and organisation provided no help in finding affordable, convenient housing

#MiLBStory I got called up from Cedar Rapids to Ft Myers in June 2014 after throwing well in CR. I pitched well in Ft Myers in my few months there. Had a 1.52era in 16 appearances. I was 23yo at the time In 2015, I get sent back to Ft Myers. Totally expected.

70 road games, received $25 per diem That’s an extra $1,750 We pay $8 a day in clubhouse dues for all games. We use meal money to pay for that. So that’s $1,120 without tip. For the 70 days on the road, you have $630 to buy breakfast and lunch from your “meal money”

In 2019 when I was playing in St Paul, I ran into Jose at the Mall of America We were never teammates at the Twins, just locker neighbours in 2014 ST We noticed each other, said hi, had a small conversation, hugged and went on our way.

I pitched, didn’t feel all that great. Kinda just strolled off annoyed at myself but then! My old teammate was coaching 1st, runs past me, makes some smartass comment and all of a sudden I forget about baseball and get excited I that I see an old friend Good ol baseball 😊

One of the truly astonishing things was playing in front of 8,000+ fans almost every night. One of the more amazing things was when there were 2,000 fans and it felt like 20,000 fans were there. Playing for the Saints is a joy

#MiLBStory Jim Thome I don’t know why Jim Thome was in extended with us in 2011, but he was. Anyway, short story. He seemed like a very simple guy. He stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn with the rest of the kids in extended spring. Had his own room though

In 2009, a teammate in pro ball was telling me about this guy at San Diego State that threw 100mph... I was like, this guy is lying. No one throws that hard, especially in college. Thought he was dreaming Now we see guys like Stephen Strasburg almost everyday. Throw hard 😊

At the gym today, I saw a dude who looked very fit working out, and dude who was on the larger side near him looking lost The latter looked like a gym newb, and approached the fitter guy for some help with exercises They ended up working out together. Wholesome gym content 💪🏽

#MiLBStory At the start of the 2018 MiLB season, a bunch of teammates and I planned to stay at student housing in Chattanooga. In 2017 a few players stayed in this same place and it was a good setup, and about 16 players on the roster decided to stay there in 2018

Got vaxxed yesterday, for two main reasons. - the microchip, if I go missing in Mexico, the government will be able to track me. Or at least Bill Gates will - 5G, I only get 4G data here. So hopefully I can provide my phone some better reception

At a camp today there was a girl who said she plays baseball, but won’t be much longer because apparently girls don’t play baseball Stop telling girls they can’t play baseball! They have a World Cup! There’s professional women’s baseball in Japan! And soon to be in Australia!
