Tony Scott’s Top Gun was released in theaters on this day 37 years ago. I love Top Gun: Maverick but one thing it’s missing is a dogfight sequence set to the modern day equivalent of Mighty Wings.

It truly is fantastic stunt work and coordination from Vic Armstrong. To think if Spielberg wasn’t directing The Last Crusade there might not have been a tank sequence at all and then we wouldn’t have gotten any of this or Harrison Ford doing some of his own amazing stunt work.

16 years ago today Spielberg and Lucas released Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in theaters. So much to love about this one but this scene gets me every time! I think I’ll start calling kids Joe College more often.
