GUMI AI hacks from yours truly: - Japanese [e] phoneme is much better than [ih] for some reason - Vivid + Tension @ 0.4 + Timbre expressiveness all the way up in retakes makes her 1) way more reactive to tuning and 2) sound closer to gumi native

I think recording in English for concat synth is borderline impossible, so if a non native speaker can do it, that's very impressive. Even native English speakers can't make good sounding English voicbalks for like UTAU cuz concat synth just sucks at doing english

some english speakers have remarkably poor attitude towards english voicebanks recorded by non-native english vocalists. it’s one of those forms of vsynth elitism that’s super offputting because of how widespread it is. it scares people away from wanting to make english vocals 😕
