It says a lot about a society that prioritises shopping (and the deeply destructive fast fashion industry) over our need to sit down & break bread together, a deeply human action that is both necessary for our survival and for a sense of connection
@MattHancock
@BorisJohnson
Much as I love the constant resilience of the hospitality sector I can’t help feeling if more of our politicians got proper jobs before starting political careers they may have given restaurants/pubs more notice to wind down stock and empty fridges before being shut down (again).
Lovely

It feels like such a ludicrous waste of money when the most obvious thing is to let restaurants simply trade now, with distancing, less tables, screens that everyone has put in. It is just nuts that we have been targeted like this 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
A good Restart Scheme would be to RESTART all the existing businesses which are shut and allow all of them to open fully - before they go bust thanks to lockdowns, so close down, and make their staff redundant - adding to the unemployed.

This is something I have been so upset by...how is a library not essential? We have to feed minds as well as bodies and children have had neither school libraries nor local ones. How can we level up when poorer kids don’t even have books to escape to at night?

I am glad you said ‘if’ - phew! The waiter was charged £3 on a £40 bill at the manager’s discretion. Thanks to

we have been able to look into it and the waiter has been reimbursed at a situation the was clearly not gross negligence...

Guys, It is absolutely not standard policy for waiters to be deducted, only in cases of total negligence which this certainly does not seem to be. We are a company that looks after our staff and I am very proud of this. This waiter has unfortunately not understood the policy...
Is anyone else baffled at why the shops are still shut and why it is illegal to have dinner together when the vulnerable are vaccinated and infection rates are so low? I feel like we are living in some alternative reality...I thought we were following the data

What is fascinating is that when people know the facts they are almost unanimous in calling for action from the government. So why does the government refuse to act?

🍔 How worried are people about junk food?
📺 Government proposed a 9pm advertising ban last year, then delayed.

We can def get to a million. There are def a million people in this country that care about where their food comes from, how it is grown, if it destroys wildlife, environment and soil. If it is sprayed in glysophates, if it is healthy stuff, or not?
Come on everyone, we’re so close to 750,000 signing the petition. Let’s get a million people signed up in under two weeks. Show you care about the future of our farms and our food.....

Not opening hospitality at the same time as all those non-essential shops will cost £9bn in lost tax, earnings & excess furlough payments. More business will go bust & more people lose their jobs. And 22m people vaccinated??? Is that really levelling up

Have none of the MPs been to local parks in the last month or so? Half the population are vaccinated inc the most vulnerable and people have been out seeing each other for weeks now because they know this and are not stupid. Wake up government! And open this country up!
