Me, thinking about an alt timeline where Prince of Egypt was more successful than Shrek, so we got 2 decades of hand-animated dramas instead of cgi comedies...
Anytime someone says, "Just make your animated show idea as a graphic novel instead" I KNOW that person has no clue the time/effort/skillsets involved in a solo graphic novel.
Ok, I am going to make a thread based on the Storyboard Handout infodump I did on twitch tonight! First up, what does a tv storyboard department look like? Well, probably something like this! (1/?)
I stayed so calm and reasonable in the face of someone who honestly thought Puss in Boots was all 2d-hand drawn animation "Because of the colors they used".
Viper was ALREADY the most complex rig for the film! And the bridge was a quadruple version!!!!! Which I beleeeeive was keyframed instead of simmed, but I'd have to doublecheck.
This movie is a triplethreat masterpeices of visuals, writing and technology.
Oh hey, you want a sneak peek at this project? Tune in TOMORROW 4/27 to the "Pit Stop in Hatchetfield" Livestream on the

YT channel to catch a special screening ๐๐๐
Acting is reacting! Here's what that means when I storyboard:
1. New information comes in,
2. Brain understands the information,
3. THEN the emotions hit.
Absorb, Understand, then React. And the pacing of each step is the secret sauce to unique performance!
Lol, got rejected from my school's animation program 3x.
And I got 50 job rejections before starting at DreamWorks.
I STILL get rejections for not matching the technique required on some projects.
I'm directing a dream show because of 20 years of practice, not "genetics".
A friend's storyboard panel, not a final animation frame that dozens of people touched, her solo storyboard drawing, was sold on a hot topic shirt. No residuals.
My first big Hollywood eye-opener was after I had just broke in- talking to a character designer (wont tag him unless he sees and wishes to be tagged) who did or had a huge hand in Pickle Rickโs design about how he will never see a penny of itโs success. Months before my break, I
I'm glad so many of you are finding Starkid through my "Nerdy Prudes Must Die" art! While you're here, you GOTTA check out "The Guy Who Didn't like Musicals" on youtube!
Here's amazing character designs
@mickequ

trailer. As shots were rearranged/cut for the final edit, some of the designs weren't in the final video. Now they're here for YOU TO ENJOY! (thread 1/2)
I made some fan-animation for a podcast I was a big fan of, about a spooky guy who tells you creepy stories, my favourite archetype
and yes, that's justin mcelroy lol
After a week of drawing "spooky scary Shelley-tons" I did a little jmart fluff. Vaguely season 2 vibes.
Audio from the "Gaming and Giving" charity stream where Jonny and Alex did requests in-character.

Storyboard Pro users! I JUST found out if you hold alt and click your audio track, it places volume keyframe!!! So you can fade in/fade out or modulate the volume!
Keyframes DONE!! (Blood/body horror warning) thanks everyone who came to the streams this week! Now I'm gonna lock myself away to draw in-betweens.

twitch viewer asked about different levels of "clean" in the storyboard process! They need to be clear enough for the "intended audience". Is there enough information for the next person down the line to do their job?
A couple clock app commenters had the audacity to say "but this scene happens in the locker room!" pal have you heard of "the characters walk to a new place during a scene"
tfw the narrative puts you in matching outfits to illustrate how you're on equal ground with your love interest for the very first time but you're both REAL nervous about it.
It's....a....Show Stoppin' Number, a REAL Show Stopper!
HEY if the
