One of the world's first purpose-built amusement parks on Southend-on-Sea is on the list of endangered buildings at risk of being lost for good.
The Victorian Society and their president Griff Rhys Jones have listed 10 places that they say are in need of rescue.
Today the City of London planning committee approved the application that will allow a developer to cantilever over the Bishopsgate Bathhouse. Our caseworker spoke at the meeting. We are very, very sad. We will keep you informed if there is further news.

The planning application for partial demolition of the listed station to build a tower through & over the Grade II* former Great Eastern Hotel is now LIVE!!
OBJECTION HERE ⬇️

We are urging the
@cityoflondon
to reject plans to cantilever a tower over a listed Victorian Turkish bath house – the exterior of which is covered in show stopping tiles. Worryingly most of the proposed site is outside the tall building cluster.
Revealed! The Top 10 Endangered Buildings!
Can you help us save these buildings from being lost forever?
The list includes a derelict Victorian pub, a rotting country mansion and an abandoned school...
📢 This historic former police station in Birmingham imminently faces demolition. The irreplaceable building is deemed 'inconvenient' - standing in the way of a road-widening scheme. Birmingham's rich heritage must be protected for future generations.
'"It’s not just about the pub, I think people are sick of having our heritage knocked down, and losing buildings that we just shouldn’t be losing,” said Laura Catton, who was landlady at the Crooked House from 2006-2008.'

about these proposals expressing our deep concern and asking to be put in touch with the developers immediately. This is yet to happen. However, we have won here before and will fight again.
I can't believe that Network Rail is planning to build a tower block over the spectacular Liverpool Street Station concourse - and to demolish this excellent Victorian Gothic building in the process. 1960s thinking.
This week Network Rail is consulting on plans to partially demolish Liverpool St Station and cantilever a tower over the grade II* hotel. The consultation is taking place at the station near Boots, in a unit under an escalator, at the Broadgate Entrance Lower Concourse until 22nd

We would appeal to whoever took this brass eagle lectern to please return it to St Augustine’s. We had our brass door plates stolen last year so we know how this feels. It is part of the history of this church and its community - it belongs back at the church.

We are saddened to report that the eagle has been stolen from our Victorian brass lectern. The theft occurred on the morning of 10th June by a solo man walking into church and removing it from the column, covering it in a blanket and walking out with it.
